Should be as easy as getting a price and signing up. Not surprised reading other reviews about people finding it difficult to cancel their membership.
My call was answered by a bright but overly-chatty young lady, who arranged to sell me a month's membership the next evening.
We duly met up, and paying for the deal went pretty smoothly by credit card.
It's not a big gym, and all the machines and benches are usually occupied between 6 and 7.30, but become available after that.
A great selling point is the individual, smart changing/ shower rooms, and these almost give this gym four stars, along with its 24 hour availability.
But it's let down by there being only one of any weight machine, and not enough cable stations--always in use.
But it earns at least three and a half stars...
One of my worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I paid for two years of a membership I never used. This was due to a car crash which I told them over the phone. Over the duration of this time, I spoke to multiple staff and was even told at one point that my membership would be cancelled as I was unable to myself. Some time later I realised and contacted them, eventually speaking to the manager. I received no help whatsoever, and the manager said there was nothing on my notes so was unable to dispute my refund. I even offered medical evidence, as stated on the membership terms and conditions but the manager refused to acknowledge (due to notes, staff notes!)... Disgraceful!
Untrained staff who do not write notes of evidence within calls. A manager who is blunt and unwilling to listen. The nerve to still send me promotions after dreadful service. Inaccurate recordings.
I have now joined Nuffield health (family & friends deal). I am paying less and my experience is significantly better.
Avoid this gym at all costs if you appreciate quality customer service.
Sure, they're nice enough, but my god if you ever try to cancel your membership god help you! They bend the law so much you think they'd've been shut down by now. I've been trying for 4 months now just to cancel but they keep coming up with reasons like wrong form, or incorrect form. Then there's notice periods and small print. They've clearly created this process deliberately to extract as much money out of you as possible.

I cancelled with them previously, but they managed to worm 3 extra months out of me through shady and slow admin practices. I thought this might be just a bad experience, but now when dealing with Nancy yet again some years later and trying to cancel, it is clear they are trained to steel your money and slow the cancelation process as much as possible.
