Ashford International Train Station was originally built in 1842 and has undergone several changes. It now offers direct links to Paris, Brussels and Lille. London stations are only a 37 minute journey away which is fantastic. It certainly is a busy station but the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are public facilities which I have not used. One can obtain snacks, hot drinks, reading materials etc at the cafe on the platforms. There are lifts for disabled people and people with heavy luggage. There is secure parking and a Park and Ride for local residents. There are good bus connections to the William Harvey Hospital and other local areas. Taxis are also available.

Station itself is fine and services are on time about half the time, longest delays are just a few mins. HOWEVER the machines are a nightmare when collecting pre ordered tickets. The option to collect never works on the machines on the 'outlet exit' side, and this morning they didn't work on the other side either. Huge queue to collect tickets at which point staff say you can collect at your arrival station. Surely there could be a sign or announcement for this rather than let everyone queue and tell them all separately?
