Not exactly professional by a long way. The staff at this bank are great but the head office sucks!! I though head offices of companies are supposed to set the customer service standards? Well it's the other way around with this banking service/company. The staff have more respect than the head office and I personally think the head office should visit this branch and get customer training from the staff at this branch who know how to treat customers instead of sitting in their chair drinking coffee and having salad lunches like they do. I went to open an account here when I was at the time banking with TSB. The reason I wanted to change banks was that my nearest TSB branch was an hours drive away. So I wanted a bank that was a lot closer and Barkleys was ideal being the only bank in my town. I opened the current account and got the bank card and pin number through the post with no issues to then get a letter from the head office saying my account had been closed down within 2 weeks to prevent fraud!! What the hell? I've worked in security for nearly 35 years and get such a terrible letter accusing me in not so many words of fraud. I seriously feel sorry for staff who work for this company because if head office can send such allegation letters to innocent customers then God knows how they treat their own staff.
