This place was so peaceful. I was visiting my sister who lives nearby. The sun was shining and the garden was serene.

I have made many retreats here and always find it a place of refreshment, light and peace. I was privileged to spend Easter here this year and savoured the silence and other-wordly chanting of the Latin offices. What a gift this place is. People of all faiths and none are made very welcome. The garden is also a peaceful and beautiful place to relax in.

Been there for a retreat. Was the most wonderful, calming experience ever.
Felt like we landed on a different planet, well away from the maddening crowds !!

Beautiful beautiful beautiful.
What can I say. Went here for a yoga retreat. Exceeded my expectations.
The most calming restorative place in this fast pace world. Highly recommend and will return.

Guided tours here by the resident Nuns. Check website for details. Fascinating history of the building and area going back to 600AD. You are taken around the grounds and to the Chapel. Not only a great way of finding out about the History of Minster Abbey but the Isle of Thanet also. I learnt that St Nicholas-at-Wade is so called because you could Wade across the River Wantsum to the mainland at that point when Thanet was a Island....fascinating stuff....

Joyful visit - with a lot to learn about St Augustine, the Abbey, Thanet island and Kent!

It was a great pleasure to return to the tranquility of Minster Abbey as we used to live in the area and had a special relationship with Abbot Gilbert Jones.
When we entered the grounds we were warmly welcomed by the Rev Mother who invited us to make ourselves at home and to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of an ancient Abbey steeped in history.
We found that we were the only people in the grounds which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the special atmosphere which is generated by the gardens and a building of this nature where countless generations of holy peolpe have prayed and worshipped for hundreds of years.
If you are seeking a peaceful place in which to pray: stop here and visit the chapel and gardens.
