My husband dealt with everything financial for our family. From the business he owned and operated, right through to our daughters education costs, anything medical and everything to do with our home. He was a control freak and I let him be. I had access to all the money I wanted via a card that he paid. The life of riley, until he was diagnosed with rapid onset Alzheimer's. Within a year he went from operating a successful building firm, from architect through surveyor to contractor and finally completion. Now he cannot remember how to operate a basic phone nor to use the tv controls. Nothing prepared me for the fall out from this. Mentally and physically I am there for him every step of the way. However, apart from having power of attorney, I had no idea of what to do regarding anything financial. From winding business down to tax returns to the multi bank accounts in operation, this company (my husbands accountants for many years), have been an absolute God send. They have been so patient with me and will explain things a hundred times in needed. Yes they are paid but from what I've been told, they charge no more or less than other firms. And anyway, to me, complete trust brings peace of mind and that is worth a kings ransom. Could I recommend them? I dont think I could manage without them.
