George Hay

I have always found George Hay to be efficient, professional and give me great advice. I find accountants are often there to protect themselves from losing their own practicing certificate and they tend to act in everyone else's interest except mine (including the taxman). George Hay are a breath of fresh air. I feel they are on my side and they and I would recommend them for any small business.

I have used GH for personal tax advice for a number of years. When I recently started my new business, I used them for the creation of the company and ongoing bookkeeping services. At all times they have provided me with support and advice in a professional and friendly manner. They are also willing to help, particularly during the early months, with general queries that I have.

I found George Hay accountants online as needed an offshore accounting advice and services. The receptionist was helpful and informed that she would ask Phil to call me on the Tuesday. No call received. I called again on the Wednesday and rearranged. I was told that Phil would contact me later that day. It's now Friday and I have received no call. In my opinion this is unprofessional and has left me with little time to sort out accountancy services prior to my contract start date.

I contacted Phil to assist with a highly complex business tax matter and he responded immediately. I have found George Hay to be a very approachable, friendly and professional accountancy practice.

George Hay have always provided us with an excellent service, undertaken by highly proficient individuals. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Started using George Hay in Biggleswade last year and it was a slow, inefficient and difficult process from start to finish. Requests to complete Accountant's Certificates for lending took ages and were eventually refused which meant our Lending stream was stopped. Every form that was completed despite all the information being calculated and provided by ME was followed by a huge bill. Unfairly charged for work that, according to another Accountant, was unnecessary. If I could give zero stars I would.

I have been using George Hay accountants for the past decade. I had plenty of accounting firms reaching out trying to poach me, but they did not have any success because I always had a fantastic experience in dealing with George Hay.

Expensive, very slow to respond and charged for work not completed.

We were clients of George Hay for a number of years. They were not the cheapest by a long shot but we wanted someone local. We have found that they got progressively worse and worse over the years, to the point where it took over 7 months of chasing to get our annual accounts, and emails took weeks to get a response.

We have also recently found out that a task that we had been billed for had not been carried out. I have raised this with them and as we have already paid, I have got nowhere :-(.

Would not recommend to anyone.
