When I started contracting, I asked loads of people to recommend an accountant. Most were at best half hearted about the companies they were with. 'Once they've got you signed up, they're not interested' was the most common complaint, along with 'You get someone good to start with, then they stick a rookie on your account'. Then Intouch were highly recommended to me by a friend of a friend who has been contracting for years, so I gave them a ring. I liked the look of the website, the charges seemed reasonable and the pre-sales was friendly but not pushy, so I signed up. I received pretty good support in starting up my limited company and I've been happy with their advice so far, particularly since Ricky Whitfield took over my account. He is proactive and very approachable. I've been with them a year now and so far, so good! The portal is also easy to use, so month end tasks are pretty painless.
I think the reason most folk stay with an accountant is that it feels too difficult or complicated to move, or that one company is just as mediocre as another. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I'm actually very happy where I am.
Just one tip - wait until they're offering £200 Amazon vouchers before signing up.....I sold my soul for £50 and the amount went up the very next month!

InTouch Accounting were recommended by a friend and they have been fantastic. As this was my first contractor role i was naive and inexperienced when it come to setting up my company and had lots of questions to which they were very helpful with. My Personal accountant (Frances Bridge), has been excellent in helping me setup my accounts and her advice has been invaluable. She responds quick to emails and is always available for a quick call. Highly Recommend!!

I have been with Intouch for just over a month now. Although I haven't been through many of the regular accounting activities yet, I feel safe & informed due their professionalism until now. I was researching a lot online to find the 'right' accounting service. After a lot of deliberation, I decided to go with Intouch as the reviews were very positive. I was very concerned with reviews of other accountants where the service degraded eventually. I read that that's not the case with Intouch - as per many reviews here. Its still very early for me to confirm that, but its been very positive until now. I spoke to Matthew initially who didn't push me at all. He explained me very patiently all the details about accounting & what Intouch can do for me in layman terms so that I can make an informed decision. Katherine took over from there & has been very proactive in setting up the company accounts & guiding me through the process. Hope the experience with them stays positive. Also, the Amazon voucher was an added benifit!!!

Intouch Accounting came as a recommendation from a contractor friend who had been using them for a good few years. As i was new to contracting, Intouch (Neil K) were extremely helpful in all the explanations they gave which were simple and to the point. Neil took care of everything, all I had to do was supply the required details. The application is also very good and simple to use. Neil always returned my call if I wasn’t able to get through to him over the phone. I would strongly recommend Intouch for your small business needs.

Intouch made it very easy for me to manage my self-employed accounting affairs. Communication with my personal accountant has been excellent, with clear advice and guidance around compliance and tax efficiency - they gave me visibility of my self-assessment tax liability very soon after the period end, so I can put my feet up in January while others are pulling their hair out! The platform feels a little old, but the functionality gives me everything I need to record and process sales invoices and expenses. Their on-boarding and training was simple too, so I was up to speed much quicker than I expected. Highly recommend these guys, particularly at this monthly price-point.

I used intouch for over a year, initially they incorporated my whole business on my behalf which I thought was pretty good but the first mistake they made was my date of birth being incorrect on companies house.

Over the course of the year I wasn't too happy on some of the advice they provide to a company director - everything seemed very cookie cutter and if you go off-piste they would struggle to provide you a clear answer. Most things are dealt with over email and it's quite difficult to chat over the phone.

One of my VAT returns when I made a capital purchase was completely wrong, I think it's because the work is spread around different people/departments and so correspondence isn't coherent.

My personal tax return took 4 attempts, initially my redundancy pay was in the incorrect field so I would have been taxed on it, capital gains and dividends received in the wrong sections, then not using USD to GBP conversions amongst some other issues. I'd have been better off doing it myself and using google for advice around what I need to be declaring rather than asking intouch.

I paid intouch an additional fee to setup my alphabet shares, to only find out from my new accountants the job was only half complete.

My accounts were a constant worry - paying someone to manage your accounts should mean less stress, especially with how much they charge? My payment went up twice whilst I was with them. On the second increase I notified them I'll be moving to a new accountant.

Like other reviewers, I feel badly let down by InTouch. I paid £700 for a company closure pack and despite this they somehow allowed a compulsory strike off against my company to go unchallenged, leaving me in very bad circumstances. Almost everything they do is automated based on template emails so it's hard to know what the next steps are. They even removed my access to FreeAgent without warning.

This accountancy firm has gone worse and worse (not sure if it is because of IR35), I was their customer since 2015. My account closure was handled poorly ... over two years later still not closed. I kept on still getting HRMC fines.

Asked them to do my final year account preparation since Aug 2021 cost around over £600, and 8 months later of push backs will be ready next week. I got another email today saying they are short of staff .... account is due end of the week. seriously I would stay away.
