Terrible. Applied for a course and got accepted, when I was in the college on my 2nd day they tell me I won't be learning my course until I'm 19. They didn't tell me this, they just took me on and lied to me. If you're below 19 you won't get the course you want. Absolutely TERRIBLE.

Although this college receives a lot of bad reviews, I personally had a very good experience at Greenwich Communtiy College. There are improvements that need to be made in terms of the way the college handles certain matters and communication between departments but overall it is a decent college. I would like to thank the electrical department of the college, if it is still existent, thanks to my teachers I passed my course and now I am a qualified electrician, and I am doing very well for myself. Education is what you make of it yourself, focus on the positives and what you have in front of you, rather than the negatives.

Myself and my friend trekked an hour and a half to the College, paying £5 each way in travel fares. We got to reception 25 minutes before the start of class. It looked like there were four people in reception, so we should have been signed in quickly - it appeared only one was working and she spent rather a long time to do anything, so it took us 30 minutes to clear reception with just one person in front of us.

We were given sheets to fill in while in the class. When asked what room the course was in, the receptionist did not know. Someone else told us where it was. When asked where the room was, again, the receptionist did not know. Again, someone else told us, albeit with vague directions.

Having found the classroom, myself and my friend then had to wait 40 minutes for the instructor to show (which would have been acceptable, had the College given us a forewarning). The instructor finally showed, refreshingly apologetic, and we entered into the classroom.

The instructor told us about how this was a 10 week course and began talking about how it would survive if there were enough participants. Myself and my friend informed her that we had signed up for a two hour taster session, which she was unaware of. The instructor went to reception and brought back a manager, who asked to see our tickets. I showed them to the manager and she told me that she was sorry but this was not what the College had intended to put on their site, but that it was good we had shown her their or the site's errors. The instructor then informed us we were below the age limit (which was weirdly higher than the standard 18), so the site was even more at fault.

We left the College, having wasted what turned out to be four hours of our lives and £20 between us in travel.

What an amazing college, but the teenage girl on reception has attitude . Also it seems she chooses when she wants to help and guide people. And seems to be on her mobile a lot! Very unprofessional.
