Totally recommend this shop.
So in this safe and secure environment you can peruse a variety of sex toys – yes, I said the “S” word. Watch it or I’ll say the “f” word! Sex toys, lube, books and even take lessons on how to do things like spanking and other... bedroom sports.
The products are all tested (though the ones on the shelf are not ;-D) and many of the leather bondage gear is made by women in the Sh! factory. It is amazing how woman-centric this sex shop actually is and really refreshing to go into a large, open, well-lit, uncrowded space where costumes are in the basement and proper built corsets are on the ground level near the large central sex toy table.
You can try just about anything and with the courses on offer, your sex life can only benefit ;-)
My relationship with this store started in 2005. It was Christmas time and I was all set to enamour a live in lover. Her Birthday landed on Christmas Eve and I was desperate to impress. I'd read about this female only sex-shop some years earlier & thought of all stores, this would be the best place to get something for the woman I wanted to impress.
I'd set up my own lingerie company in the 90's (gift-delivery like Interflora only with Silk Lingerie and all pre-internet) realising men don''t have a clue when it comes to buying for the ladies in their life. They inevitably want to buy things that appeal to them (crotchless underwear, cheap & tacky fabrics etc.) making it less a present for her and more a present for them.
I didn't want to make the same errors when buying sex toys for my lover.
So Sh! was invaluable.
The first obstacle to overcome was how to get into the store. This was a female only establishment, but when I called to explain my predicament (I couldn't come with her because it was to be a surprise) the management did something that made me a customer for life. They said they couldn't let me in on my own during opening hours, but if I was happy to arrive just as they closed, they would give me 15 minutes after-hours to discuss & select things.
You wouldn't get that kind of service anywhere else in the world. Pleased that I wanted to be pleasing a woman, they were over the moon to help.
I think I've purchased over 5 remote control vibrators for various lovers (became a bit of a sgnature trait) over the subsequent years.
And they even assisted with a lover who was suffering from Vaginismus. Placing information around the store and making it feel a place where it could be talked about freely, normally and with no pressure of conformity from a male perspective. The first time in her life this opportunity had presented itself, she informed me.
|As a male growing up in the 80's passing through the doors of a white painted sex shop was a rights of passage. Being ripped of by that same establishment was another.
But then the dreadful Ann Summer's took to the high-street and changed an exciting sexually charged encounter to.... well.... shopping. Men were now sitting on chairs reading papers as their female partners tried on thigh high boots in cheap PVC, rather than being turned on their male partners were desperate to move on to anywhere else.
It was terrible, for a while, erotic emporiums had been brought down to the level of shopping at C&A.
And this is why Sh! Is so fabulous.
Questions are encouraged, and as much as the staff will have probably heard them a 100 times not once will anyone make you feel uncomfortable or unknowledgabe. This is an old school shop with old school service.
Workshops covering all aspects of sexual relations are available.
The museum of Vibrators is a must and the bookshop feels more like a library of erotica.
And my favourite of all the many memories I had there was their 2nd Easter Egg Hunt in 2015. My partner and I came in second place and never had the Easter Eggs we took home with us that day brought more smiles to the face.
I urge you if you're a female or a couple not to buy from the internet. You'll miss out on so much. The ability to speak to people about everything on show (usually someone in the store will have first hand experience of the product) and everyone's individual tastes come be accommodated for (rather than the "you bought this, here's something almost identical to buy" online approach).
But it's the welcome, range and sense of belonging that's embedded into the soul of this shop. There genuinely isn't anything remotely like it anywhere else in the world.
Do a workshop,
Drop in for coffee (now it's entrance is through a coffee shop you'll have to purchase your hot beverages but you'll be supporting independent business anyway) or if not, simply grab a FREE glass of cucumber water.
Have a chat.
Take a look around.
Discover joys of Europe's first Female Only Sex Emporium.
I guarantee you'll leave with a smile on your face
