Fantastic building with a lot of history. See
opening times. Well worth a visit. It's free,
but donations welcomed. Beautiful inside.
Easy access. Friendly volunteers are more
than happy to assist. English Heritage site.

Lovely place with an interesting and turbulent history (like most in the area). Well worth a visit when exploring the wonderful Portsmouth seaside. Volunteers are great, especially George, a class gentleman.

Beautiful church in a peaceful and beautiful spot near the coast. It was nice to read about its history with its role in being a hospital for treating the war wounded and the damage done to the building during the war.

Lovely church, only partly covered over. People very welcoming and they were happy to let me and my little dog see inside. A kind lady even brought out a bowl of water for my Westie. A peaceful and beautiful place to visit and the fact that the roof is missing I think makes it more attractive.

Also known as Domus Dei, it was partially destroyed in an attack by German bombers. All the stained-glass windows were blown out and the nave was rendered roofless by incendiary bombs and a single high explosive bomb. New glazing was subsequently fitted. Apart from the East window with its traditional design, all the other windows show much of the British Army's relationship to the Church and the City of Portsmouth. The chancel is intact, but the nave remains roofless.

A beautiful church that is located in Old Portsmouth near the waterfront.
It was damaged during a bombing raid in WW2, that blew most of its windows out & lost most of the roof.
What does remain is well worth a visit to learn of its long history.
