This "questionable" church is now an evangelical alpha type church since 2002 with a new Vicar S.Mellish. The internal furniture has all been re-arranged as per HTB in sw3. The entrance - is now from the side into a lounge area w/cafe serving drinks etc - where as previously it was from the rear. Internally it doubles with offices throughout the entire building. Newly installed (deluxe.?) kitchen etc equipment makes food to sell and consume inside. Toilets upgraded - fine. Other facilities too. Lifts to offices on next floor up.!!!! Car park at side. Easy access by tube+long walk or by bus. At a recent evening Sunday service plenty of worship(music); Bible reading not done by the Vicar but by several helpers which made it hard to follow the scriptures; but NO prayers were said at this evening service.!!!!. Quite extraordinary.
There was a song by Culture Club in the 80s that applies to this church - guess which one.? Also another song by the Police also applies to this church: "Every breath you take".
They must think God(+2) has switched off his "Video-Vector-Scope" on this Church.?
By all means try this church and see if you like it but do A - B comparison with your conscience along the way too. Very nice sound system through a mixing desk though with 2 speakers from the ceiling. Overall "a veritable feast of delights".

I don't normally write reviews though having read a few of the reviews on here, I feel compelled to write an honest testimonial. St Michael's, colloquially known as St Mike's, is a warm and friendly church with a thoroughly modern outlook which has changed the lives of many over the years, including ours. There are so many amazing people involved in the church including the very brilliant Vicar Steve Melluish and his deputy Rich, both of whom I would now regard as friends. We highly recommend this church.

Best modern church I could find in and around sw18. Fun, engaging and relatable services, supportive, amazing facilities and groups. Couldn't have asked for any better moving to a new area and having kids.

Actually here right now. Not having a good day so it was wonderful to see a church with a cafe. No hot food only snacks but lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Everything one might expect from a church. The presence of the Lord is definitely here. 🙏 ❤

A coffee shop is such a great idea! You can see and feel the community. Whether you are a part of it or otherwise! Great place to work from, I agree with the post earlier on, thank you!
