Since Greenwich was associated with the Tudors, we also visited the over 1,000-year-old Church of St. Alfege, where Henry VIII was baptized in 1491. There is also an organ on which (especially the octaves of the middle keyboard) were played by princesses Mary and Elizabeth (future Mary I and Elizabeth I, respectively). The church is modest but nice. In the church gardens you will find a place to eat. Clean and nice☺️

What a fantastic and welcoming place. We attended the evening song service and it's was an amazing experience. We spent 3 hrs there and left full of positive energy. Now I pop in the during my lunch break for a moment of peace 🙏

One of the oldest most decorative churches I’ve ever been in a beautiful place which is actually 100’s of years old.
They don’t make places to this standard today especially hand crafted as most of the works carried out here back in the day was .... if your looking to visit a special church in London this has to be on your list.

Very interesting part of Greenwich to explore and a great place to escape the shops and crowds. The church and grounds boasts an interesting rich history really worth a visit if you’re intrigued by old gravestones.

A real local gem of a church. Christmas carols are sung by a very professional choir... Bell ringing on weekends sounds great too

I visited this church by chance before a special music event started on Thursday midday. Two artists played piano and the atmosphere was so peaceful and brilliant.
They have a weekly plan for live music so don’t miss it
