Some great dead folk in there!! Found the odd ornamental bush and artificial flowers particularly pleasing to the eye. Its a shame other Churches don't allow this!!

If you are walking g the Thurne Circular - I would highly recommend walking for a further 10 minutes off route to visit this interesting and fairly old church. I didn’t originally plan to do so - but being my middle name is Peter I was compelled to do so. I wasn’t disappointed. The tower itself is worth viewing as it quite rare to see church towers constructed in a circular fashion. Clearly the church is old - possibly 12th century and is steeped in history. I would have liked to see some information plaque with facts about this church. On arrival I also spotted a tombstone with my surname spelt out clearly (with 1 L also) which is rare. I entered the church - which was open and didn’t find a soul within. However someone had left out some water, squash and biscuits for wayward visitors to drink and a small device to make electronic donations for the upkeep of the church. I happily donated as I helped myself to drink. It was peaceful and looked ancient inside. The churchyard was well kept. All in all I would urge anyone visiting the area to pop in - if only for a place to rest.
