Christ Church Spitalfields

This beautiful Nicholas Hawksmoor church is an oasis of calm in the ocean of turmoil that is the City of London. I was in here for nearly an hour, Heard the organist giving the church organ a bit of a workout. It sounded divine. Well worth a visit.

What a pity Christ Church Spitalfields now employs bouncers to chase away unsuspecting members of the public. Today I stepped into the fenced area at the front of Christ Church and was unceremoniously shooed away by two smartly-dressed geezers. So much for Christian spirit. I now regret my 1990s contributions to the renovation fund.

Although food is a bit odd...

Excellent. An extremely welcoming Church where the message is taught in such a practical way.

I attended this church for a couple of years and sadly I saw homophobia become increasingly apparent and normalised primarily from the male preachers. I believe this community can be harmful if you don’t fit into their “ideal” and I saw dozens of people leave for similar reasons before me.

Great community of people who share a love for God and those around them.

Christ Church has its own structural design and looks beautiful.

I attended a beautiful Christmas carols event and although not much of a church going person I felt the reverence and beauty of my surroundings. The choir was absolutely delightful and could drown my tune deaf singing!😂😂😂😂😂 The church itself is definitely worth a visit and I would recommend to tourists or anyone for this matter!
