So much history around! Beautiful! It's not the chapel only, but the ruins of the Abby beside (not open). Nearby, you find the Green Bridge! Well worth, a day out!

Don't know what it was, but found it really peaceful and quiet, me and the dog spent a couple of hours watching the sunset, absolutely lovely, there's also a farmhouse ruin right next to it, your not aloud to go in to it as it is on MOD land but you can see most of it anyway, worth a visit if your going to the green bridge.

Flimston Chapel dates back to medieval times and is now situated sits in the middle of the Castlemartin Royal Armoured Corps firing range.

Visitors to the chapel need to be aware that the road to the chapel is closed during live during exercises, so check ahead before traveling.

The site is well maintained and very peaceful. Apparently the interior of the church can be accessed by enquiring at the guardhouse at Castlemartin.

Flimston chapel is one of the most beautiful church’s in the area. It’s situated on the Castlemartin military firing range so access can be limited if the MOD are conducting war games or a military operation. The area is steeped with history and there are plenty of ruined cottages and farmhouses in the area. The church is not open generally but you may collect a key from the military base provided you leave a form of ID with them. Driving license or passport etc. It is a beautiful place and considering where it is and what happens here I’m amazed it’s not been hit by any ordnance. It is a must see place when in this part of West Wales. Many thanks to the ladies who already had the key and allowed us to use it.

(Translated by Google) I was impressed (as a conscript during a stay of several weeks in 1977) the bullet-riddled flags that hung from the ceiling of the chapel. Otherwise the weather was 3 weeks of sunshine and washing dishes in the canteen, as a staff radio operator I was not available for anything else😉). The huge sandy beach on the site is also great, where you were collected in the evening by a veteran of the British Army in an equally old Land Rover before the night shooting began.
