Quite a lot of these style churches all over angelsey but pretty much all of them are locked up and never open.

Lovely medieval church in graveyard. You cant go inside the church but there are ancient cravings around the door.

Great setting in a circular churchyard. Enough space for one car at the roadside. Extraordinary ancient carvings around thd door. Usually locked but the memorial slab to King Pabo inside is lovely.

A little gem of a church in an isolated but easily reached rural location close to the banks of Llyn Alaw on Anglesey. The medieval building itself dates back to the 12th century with most of the original structure remaining which really sets it apart on the island. For a 900 year old church it looks quite magnificent. Saint Pabo (King Pabo) has a fascinating history and there is a headstone marking his last resting place in the neat circular little graveyard. Apparently the face of the devil (watching all visitors) has been carved into one of the stones in the retaining wall surrounding the church but I could not find this and have never seen a picture of it so it is only myth or legend?. Who knows?. This lovely isolated intriguing little place is well worth finding with minimal parking on the road in front of the church itself. I have heard the church is quite splendid on the inside but I was not able to gain entrance when I visited.

Unremarkable looking church perhaps with a remarkable secret
