This small rural Church is quite testing just to locate being out in the wilds of Anglesey a fair way from the main A5025 coastal road. Local knowledge or help is needed just to find it.
It is a smart little Church that dates back to the early 18th Century but a Church was originally built on this site from 630 A.D. but none of the original structure remains. The circular Churchyard and Lynch-Gate hint at the sites antiquity however. The Church was closed and locked when I visited but there is a nine sided font within apparently that dates back possibly as far as the 14th Century, and there is an 18th Century pitch pipe also to aid the singing of the congregation within. The Churchyard was a little overgrown when I visited I must say.
I parked some 350 metres South East of the Church at a public pathway sign, but the road this sign is on takes knowledge just to find. It is worth the effort to find though, or at least it was to me, as it was the only Church on Anglesey that I had never seen, and there were no photographs of it on Google maps even. There are now, which this little Church truly deserves. It is worth noting that there is a 3 feet high standing stone which hints at being part of a former burial chamber(?) some 120 metres South of the Church in a farmer's field.
