Village Vet St Albans

The 2 generous stars are not in relation to the Vets . But the rude and dismissive member of reception that could hardly bring herself to acknowledge my presence. I couldn't tell you her name as she didn't have a name badge but she had long blonde hair. I have NEVER in all the time I've been at this surgery felt so rudely treated . It takes seconds to acknowledge and communicate. Maybe some customer service training is required.

My first visit to the pet Village was great the staff were courteous and kind, the doctor was very satisfying he answered all my questions and the cat was calm after her first experience, I recommend it

I was really concerned about my senior dog, the vet examined her and diagnosed her with Arthritis.
Monthly injections were recommended I was worried about the financial cost however the vets are going to help me claim for this on Bear's insurance.
The vet was very kind and knowledgeable and I was offered me cheaper alternatives to treating Bear.

If I could give NO star I would. I paid to have my dog scanned, £721.00 in April 2022. The BVA provided them with the hard copy results in June. This is what the BVA told me today, end of Aug 2022. The Village Vet reception team told me that my dog was not registered with the practice, that the person dealing with the scans was out until Oct, that I was to obtain the results on my own, that they would have a manager call me back but instead had another reception team member call me back. This now being the end of Aug 2022, I am very certain I will never take any of my 3 cats and 1 dog back to this Vet practice.

Kayleigh is amazing and very helpful. I have emailed her about my cat for the past couple days as I have been bit worried about my cats eye watering and she has been so helpful and understanding. Thank you so much again !

My cat Max received excellent care from Dr. Donaldson who is exceptionally knowledgeable and thorough. The team at Village Vets are always ready to help and make what is normally a really stressful time, as easy as possible. I have read previous reviews that state they are expensive but in my experience, it was worth every penny. I can highly recommend this practice.

Very bad experience, went with my cat who was in contact with a toxic lily- from the moment I called they suggested I go somewhere else and once I got there the vet was indifferent and non empathetic saying she looks fine and the vomiting is unrelated despite one of the symptoms of lily intoxication being vomiting. She wanted to give her back to me and take her home after a £140 consult which involved weighing her and looking at her teeth despite the possible intoxication being deadly. She suggested we go home and watch her and if it becomes more severe to come back when the very rare case a cat survives this poisoning is to discover and treat it very early not wait around to see if it gets worse! I told her to do blood tests which cost another £40 and after 10 minutes of waiting she said she can’t do blood tests as my cat is too agitated- we have taken her for 3 vaccination previously to another vet and no one has ever said she is too agitated to not be able to do it. She suggested light sedation so I agreed but never mentioning it costs more, also said she’ll give her a pill to settle down and again never mentioned extra costs. Ending up costing nearly £300 for this. Do not recommend them
