A few weeks back I bought a lovely Chippy Heath vintage telephone table and when it arrived it was pretty smashed up. I was so disappointed! I wanted to restore it to it's former 1950's glory so after a little researching
I found a Richard McPhee and I cannot praise him highly enough. He fixed it in a week and his pricing is extremely reasonable. My table is now beautiful and you can't even see it was damaged now.
I really recommend him, so if you need any furniture repairing or polished go to him!

Richard fixed a very delicate set of glass cabinet doors for us and did a mighty fine job. He has been in business on Muspole Street since I was born in 1984. You don't stay in business that long unless you really know what you're doing! Richard is a rare breed these days and a true gentleman to boot. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for repairs or restoration work and neither should you!

I have used Richard several times over the years, and not only is the work 100%, but he is also a very nice person to deal with....

Richard has repaired several of our household pieces of furniture, many inherited and in need of considerable attention. Richard restored them sensitively and skilfully and we are able to continue using and enjoying them in our daily life. We have recommended him to friends, and are glad to do so more generally.

Originally, I had tried to get my office chair manufacturer to help with a breakage, this met with no success. I then found Richard McPhee. It was not a straightforward repair, but Richard did a superb job, very quickly and at a fair price, I was very impressed, he is a gentleman and I would recommend anyone to him at anytime. You can just tell that he is a craftsman and is someone who wants to "repair instead of throw it away" Derek Hammond.

Richard carried out an excellent refurbishment of our dining table removing long-standing water marks and blemishes. The work needed considerable care and knowledge of a range of treatments. Richard is a pleasure to work with too.

Restoration of a Victorian chest of drawers and a reproduction small Yew bookcase.

These two pieces of furniture had been lying around our house for many years. We were not sure if they were worth restoring, but a quick assessment by Richard persuaded us they were.
He did a remarkable restoration of both, showing great skill and care with the pieces. We are delighted with his work – not only is he a real craftsman, but he is also quick, efficient friendly and very reliable with his estimates. Why did we wait so long to have them done?

Dreadful water damage was removed from a small table and the finish and repair to the leg was very well done indeed. I am so pleased! This is the second time I have needed Richard’s expertise. He previously repaired a lovely inlaid card table which had bits of marquetry missing and a leg need repairing. The meticulous work, care and attention were marvellous and has resulted in the table being enjoyed by all the family.
