Chiltern Antiques

So after an afternoon of texting the owner of chiltern antiques yesterday about an antique post box and arranging to come today to have a look and purchase we were met with a very rude aggressive man. There were two on the floor but not the one that we informed was in the shop to see. He told us that he had none to see. When we told him about the fact that we had made arrangements via text to see the particular box and then decided to tell us that there was mis communication. And that we only said that we were coming to look at it not buy it. I said that usually when I am looking for something that I look first and then buy. He was extremely aggressive and said that we had a go at him and that it was just after Christmas and basically said he would not deal with us!!!! Very very unprofessional and would not recommend dealing with him for antiques. It’s also a cobblers and not a shop as depicted on the website. It’s a shoe repairs shop called The Soleman

Does not exist. Its is a shoe repair shop that are very rude and aggressive. They have not stock to look at even after making arrangements yesterday to come and look and purchase a post box. Met with very aggressive man who refused to deal with us. We have driven 160 mile round trip after making arrangements yesterday with the owner, so we had every right to be upset. Would not deal with them again. I have managed to contact the original owner before he sold the business and will deal with him.

I was bought an antique post box by my family as a surprise moving in present. They fitted it, delivered it, and were exceptionally nice. Even came out after my builders had damaged it and repainted the entire box free of charge without complaint. This company is amazing and super helpful! A pleasure to deal with. Plus they know their product. Super knowledgeable about antique post boxes! Very interesting. A present I absolutely love and always a talking point when I have visitors. Thank you Chiltern Antiques!!! Always pleased when small companies do good!!!!

I purchased a post box from Chiltern Antiques as a Christmas present for my wife who SO wanted one.
Not only does it look fantastic but is totally original even with the cage inside to stop the post falling against the door - having never seen the inside of one before I did not such things existed.
I supplied the paint, as requested, and the spray paint finish is excellent ( I know someone who sprays top end cars world wide and it’s every bit as good as he does)
Jason sited it - lots of concrete to make it secure. I am fussy about things level, central etc and Jason did a superb job.
When he sited it he told me what low maintenance was required, and said if I had any issues to let him know as he gave a lifetime guarantee.
Clearly as it was a present all initial communications were done without my wife knowing - mainly text- and Jason considered this in all of our communications. He also offered to site it at a time me to suit me - few days before Christmas and when I knew my wife would be at work.
From initial enquires through to final siting I found Jason and the service he gave to be superb, being done in a professional and polite manner.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Chiltern Antiques, and indeed we have since purchased a new house slate number from him and his recommendations as to how to fix were ideal. I am sure he would have fitted it but I am reasonably competent DIY person so it was no issue.
If we need something else for the house we certainly see if Chiltern Antiques can help before looking elsewhere, especially as we are firm believers in supporting the local economy b

Great professional man at Chiltern Antiques. Full of great advice when I decided I wanted to buy a post box as a present for my daughter. Very patient with me, and friendly. Would hugely recommend this company.

Have just purchased an old Royal Mail post box, from the first time speaking to the owner she was extremely helpful and very knowledgable about the subject of them answering the many questions I had.
I was kept fully informed throughout the buying process and I can’t thank and recommended her highly enough.
