I really do not know why the previous review was written other than the fact I refused to sell this person one of my collection of early violins. the problem with some people seems to be if you know more than them, they have to write bad reviews about you,(something we have learnt in the past 35 years in the trade)
We would not be rude enough to tell people the amount this person offered for a victorian violin byW.E. Hill of London, but i am pretty sure if he offered that amount to other dealers, they would be a lot ruder.
Non rude violin "experts" are most welcome in our shop.

I am left wondering if I have encountered the rudest service at a shop anywhere in Britain ? On entering the front of the shop , we barely had time to focus on our surroundings before being waved aside by a woman ( Owner or partner ? ) so that she could go through to the back of the shop . Not a single word of welcome , enquiry , greeting , or even a sliver of a smile was offered . Undaunted , we passed through to the rear part of the shop , and were looking at some violins that were on display there when the mystery woman appeared again and told us to move out of her way , as she needed to come where we were standing .
Still no word of civility or common courtesy had passed her lips , but still undaunted , we continued to look at the violins .
At this point everything became clear , because the next words spoken by the mystery woman were , " They are not for sale " . No further words were offered , and we left .
Now I know that shops are not required to sell you anything , so I shall offer no comment on that , but clearly this is the place to visit if you wish to have a chance of meeting the rudest shop owner by far that I have encountered anywhere in Britain , and where nothing might be for sale .
Quite a novel experience .

We had a wonderful experience visiting this shop twice in our search for the perfect Welsh dresser for our old farmhouse in Harlech. Trish was super knowledgable and had some extremely fine examples of Deudarn, Tridarn and the early Llanwrust canopy dresser. We learned so much from her and Merv and this made us confident when we did find the right one, we were just sorry it was not from this great shop! If we could have had the Tridarn and the dresser I would have had their Tridarn it's magnificent! Thanks so much again and we will be back soon I'm sure. Really highly recommended!

This shop is in a lovely location, has a beautiful exterior and inside is arranged in a museum style. It is well packed with curiosities, furniture and history. The only problem I had was the hostility in the air, the owner watched our every move and didn't greet us or say anything which I found strange. Nonetheless it is a lovely shop with beautiful antiques in a gorgeous seaside town.

A wonderful treasure trove of antiques particularly kitchenalia. We really enjoyed our visit. The owner was very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. We purchased two antique Staffordshire chickens, Hovis tins and more and are delighted with our purchases. We look forward to our next visit.

I was brought up in Beaumaris before moving away to work. The shop is an institution in the town and known for the quality of its stock and knowledge of the friendly helpful owners. I'm so sorry to hear that about the chemotherapy. Get well soon. Louise

Unnecessarily curt and dismissive! 35 years in the antiques trade does not give this shop the privilege to judge potential customers on their intent or ability to make a purchase. I was reprimanded for a mere brush of my hand on a dresser and advised I'd be better off visiting a National Trust property. In the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman "big mistake.... huge!". Awful experience.

This is a fantastic little shop. My wife and I have only recently started appreciating antiques. We were the only ones in the shop and the lady owner was very polite and chatting to us and explained about the origins of the picture I brought. Lots of interesting kitchen and furniture items. Will definitely return if in the area again.
