Have been to some of the workshops they are hosting though the school summer holidays, little grandson enjoys them and gets to bring his creations home.the people who run the workshops are friendly & helpful .

Great exhibition oz stuff from the collection and the special exhibitions. Great to see a couple of school groups. Staff a bit passive- could be more engaging. Be brilliant when the roof is fixed and given a makeover. The Art is fantastic!

Free entry makes the gallery well worth a visit, with some very well known names amongst the collection.

Why is this the only city art gallery in the country that closes in the middle of the afternoon on 5 days out of 6? And is not open on Sundays?
Southampton desperately needs cultural venues to lift its image and serve local people. How about closing on a Monday or Tuesday instead.
This is such an old-fashioned approach.

Wonderful gallery - it's not too big, but it uses the space well and they have a great variety of exhibitions on. It's worth a heads up that it does share an entrance with Central Library, you just need to go up the stairs when you go in to get to the gallery.

It’s a good place for some peaceful wandering while enjoying views of the art and sculptures.
There’s also some local jewellery makers that you can purchase from here too for something individually unique.
Well worth an hour or so for a wander.
