You can tell when the people behind a gallery are themselves artists … Unit 1 doesn't just host exhibitions of amazing contemporary art, it also provides studio space and mentoring support to artists.

As a gallery it's not impressive and the works displayed aren't always worth the journey.

Great space for exhibition

Wonderful gallery - just the right size :)

If you are genuinely interested in art and not the veneer of art posturing as glamour, you'll find yourself at home here. There's a community of support that drives the philosophy of Unit 1, and that is clearly felt when you engage with the artists who do residencies and exhibit there.

An Excellent curated art space worth the small effort to find it and get in I feel that it will become very supportive of new art graduates and begin an elevated art space that could inspire an emerging art movement
