We visited during the Dale Chihuly exhibition which was curated very well within the space. It is perfect for smaller artworks and exhibtions without becoming too crowded. The botanical drawing room is a must visit with watercolours by historic and modern artists. The shop is also well presented with some unique items.

Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art is an art gallery inside Kew gardens that specialises in exhibiting classic and contemporary botanical art. In addition, there's an ever changing special exhibition. On the day I visited, there was a special exhibition of glass sculptures created by Dale Chihuly. Who's work is also exhibited around the gardens as well as in the exhibition. I love the smoothness of glass, the way colours look so pretty blended in glass, but mostly I love the way glass can be manipulated into almost any shape. Pity I can afford the Chihuly on sale at the shop.

Incredible exhibition currently on at the gallery; 360-degree installation called Blackfield which is made up of more than 17,000 etched, hand-painted flowers alongside breathtaking botanical illustrations in the gallery adjacent.

Well descriptive gallery here with the popup exhibition 'Food Forever' taking up a majority of the space followed by a gallery of food and plant artwork. At the end you get a shop selling items from both kew and the exhibition itself.

Being a Kew member, I've visited this gallery many times. The fixed exhibits are very lovely plant paintings, the detail and quality is exquisite. Most recently I visited the Zadok Ben David exhibition - visually amazing, included in the ticket. However the items for sale are far too expensive in the shop.

This is a small modern gallery, situated inside Kew Gardens. Having paid to access the gardens it is good that the art gallery is then free. They change the curation on a regular basis. When we visited during a Japanese focus for the gardens we saw a contemporary artist who works with painted etched steel, creating incredible sculptures standing 10 to 20 cm tall. Made in 2D he uses juxtaposition of black and colour, with clever lighting, to create depth and shadow. The immense floor piece was breathtaking. Overall the gallery is well presented, and the small gift shop doors not impose. Well worth a visit and time you are in Kew Gardens.
