What a lovely way to spend a summer morning. Our daughter made an appointment to visit Albion Barn on the first day of their summer opening season. What a treat!
We spent a couple of hours walking around the grounds and gallery and spoke briefly to the generous owner together with members of his family and team. Beautiful artworks in a lovely setting...

Really amazing sculptures and incredible that the owners are generous enough to provide access for free. We were told it would take 30 minutes but we spent over two hours because the artworks had clearly been chosen very carefully both in terms of individual merit and also to match perfectly the surroundings - dramatic and imposing in open locations; intimate and complex in the copses; and almost playing with the trees in a way that made them owned and part of the woods.

The only downside for us was the lady providing the maps was quite rude to the children who had knelt on the granite surround of the fountain so they could see the fountain itself. It seems that this is just the sort of place where you can teach children a lifelong love and appreciation of art. That said, it is of course a private collection and I have no issue with them running it in whatever way they choose.

Lovely rural setting to view artworks inside and out. Plenty of room to enjoy a walk too.
