Tiny Gallery

This petite and creative gallery is a must-see in town! It is a true love letter to Henley, the area, the river, and all the pieces they have inspired in local artists.

You step off Hart Street into this diminutive gallery and find a moment of calm. Capturing your eye is a stunningly creative Thames map painted across the wall featuring all the river towns from Oxford to Sonning in the form of prints for sale.

These prints, with clean lines and natural colours, are pleasing to the eye and beg to be collected in a full set. They are available as cute wooden postcards, letters and envelopes, and full-size prints along with a variety of original sketches and paintings.

I took real delight in the fired ceramic pieces (though I can't say how long they'll stay on the shelves): the subtlety of the designs blew me away, demonstrating an elegance and craftsmanship you rarely see these days. They were symmetrical enough to be practical but with enough nuance to be truly unique, with a delicate ring of gold along the rim and floral or geometric designs pressed across the bottom, some only barely visible to the careful eye.

This gallery puts our local artists in the limelight. Like the gallery itself, they may not be world-renown, but they are fully and proudly ours.
