Ipswich Art School Gallery

It has great collection of exhibits. Various events are organized here through out the year. Good place to spend time with your family.

Stunning exhibition space with a vast octagonal rooflit entrance, and a number of smaller rooms adjoining. The Ipswich Art School itself has a long and fascinating history - well worth reading about some of its colourful characters. A shame this venue doesn't seem to be as widely publicised as it should. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the exhibitions generally very high quality. Very convenient location adjacent to Ipswich Museum at top of High Street.

Excellent afternoon spent looking at days gone by of Ipswich. Made us feel really old. Also happening is getting the kids involved with Lego. There was some fantastic buildings being built by the kids. Wonderful afternoon.

Revolving exhibits. The hall is really good. Open space, easy access (inc. disabled access). Shame it's not as well advertised.

An airy, well-lit space with an ongoing programme of exhibitions. The one I saw, 'Art Forms in Nature', would have been appreciated by anyone interested in natural history.

Nice little gallery with regularly changing main exhibits. Free entrance and next to the museum for a combined visit.

Poignant exhibition of moulded vegetables by Mary Catherine Newcome strangely moving. Also enjoyed the fascinating alternative tarot cards. Looks like this is a place to return to as was in quite a rush and all sorts of interesting things going on.

The Oliver Postgate exhibition -- Bagpuss,Clangers, Ivor the Engine, Noggin the Nog -- was awesome. 5 stars!

Returning in 2021 for 'The Moon'... It was worth seeing, but not worth making a special trip for, unless you have kids booked into an actual session.
