Although the opening is limited, it's well worth making the effort to visit. The core is a Victorian collection with rather sentimental Victorian sensibilities, but this is far from a chocolate box selection. Frith's The Railway Station is perhaps the most famous and shows the hubbub of Paddington in the age of steam. The mass of characters play out their parts according to Craniology, their head shapes misguidedly fixing their place in society, whether a thief or a lady. Other masterwork's include Millais' Princes in the Tower and a work by Landseer of snarling polar bears. There’s a few more modern workings, including one by John Nash. Well worth exploring, along with the adjacent camp baroque chapel.

One of the most beautiful places in the Founders Building. It is open on Wednesdays and there's information about the pictures exposed.

Have delivered and set up here for University Careers fair over the years. Lovely friendly careers staff, always make you feel welcome. Just don't set off the alarms 🙂

These paintings are a part of the Royal Holloway heritage and most of them are from Thomas Holloway's personal gallery

Beautiful. Many fascinating Victorian paintings. Very little information available. Also used for lectures etc. Well worth a visit. Need to check opening times. Part of the architecturally stunning Royal Holloway university.

Laura the curator gave a very interesting talk about some of the paintings and the rise of Thomas Holloway. Exceptional Victorian art collection!

I was here attending my daughter's graduation, and the layout wasn't really set up to see the pictures although the paintings I did see were quite incredible!

An amazing, historic building, full of character.
