Derek has a great eye for detail. Every time we look at the two paintings he has done for us we find something new to catch our eye. Not only is he a brilliant artist he is also a very friendly and polite person. He strives to give you what you want but has the expert knowledge to advise what will and will not work within a painting. Every thing within his paintings is well proportioned and no object looks out of place. Would recommend Derek to anyone.

Derek Shapiro, one of Shropshires gentlemen artists, a painter of the real world around us, a meticulous eye catches the smallest of details, if you want a gift for the man or woman who has everything, then a visit to his his studio/gallery is highly recommended.

If this is not how you earn your living, it bloody should be. Such a talented Artist should be recognized. Superb paintings.

It’s important to note that I have known the artist Derek Shapiro more than 20 years within that time we have commissioned 5 individual paintings of various types, horses, wildlife, landscapes and still life .
Each painting tells a story and what’s equally important is knowing the subject that has been painted and Derek captures it perfectly .
From my experience is takes a very good artist to be able to portray that constancy throughout a extensive portfolio.
Derek also besides oil painting is also a perfectionist when it comes to just drawings , you name it , he can do it .
Finally it has always amazed me personally how someone can have that talent to reproduce what one can visually see so perfectly on canvas.

Several paintings severely affected by smoke damage following a house fire. Derek carried out a superb job of cleaning and restoring them to the extent they looked better than before the fire!
