Thomsons

My 90 year old mother called Thomsons out as her television wasn't working. This entailed a 5 minute drive up the road. The engineer quickly ascertained that a cable had come out of the wall and put it back in. The visit was 5 minutes in total and my mother was charged £49.50. I understand that Mr Thomson has a business to run but empathy and consideration for a frail and elderly lady is obviously a very low priority. I will not be using or recommending Thomsons again.

That's odd. Two negative reviews so far?
I have never had anything but good service and courtesy from Alan and the team. The system of trying something at home to check it suits is a bonus.
Yes-- repairs and call outs are not cheap but much cheaper than calling a plumber. And yes Alan charges more than Amazon etc, but often sorts out Sky or wifi glitches over the phone or with a visit free to things from him.
I am sorry others have had a poorer experience. DD

Having bought Televisions from Thomsons over the years, always been very pleased with the high quality of service! I needed a new computer told them my requirements, they got one for me Mike came along set it all up and that was two years ago and no problems!

Purchased an Acer computer and Epson printer XP -435 . Everything set up by Thomsons quickly and efficiently. Any issues were resolved immediately and professionally by them(Mike) .Their after sales service it has to be said is second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend Thomsons.

Thomson also did the service of converting vinyl and cassette albums to cd vinyl and I appreciate the help when I needed transferred to cd format for the reasons I was done it as a gift to some one with Xmas coming up. Alan Thomson and the team are courteous and polite in person and over the phone.

Thomsons are very helpful and knowledgeable and offered me excellent guidance on tv cabling. They're not the cheapest, but I encourage local residents to use Thomsons and in the process support a long established local business.

I needed 2 new TV sets installed so called this local company and although the call out was prompt, the charge was exorbitant plus Vat! The second set was fitted 3 days later with another call out charge and the TV stopped switching on the same evening! So we were advised that the set was probably faulty and should be returned to the store where we bought it . When the next one arrived the next day, they couldn’t set up for another 3 days by which time we did it ourselves with our neighbour! And then we found that in our area most call out technicians charged half of what Thomson charged us!
