I ordered a Blackmagic 12K URSA along with some other items and whilst it took a very long time to arrive (due to chip shortage and supply chain issues) I had no problems getting hold of Andrew Guest who was extremely helpful and tried his best to get status updates from Blackmagic. Andrew is very knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for the customer.

Really don’t understand this place. Claim to be a family business trading for 60+ years? Ordered a camera online in May. Never heard anything apart from initial confirmation email. Chased them up a few weeks later to be told something along the lines of ‘we’ll look into it’. Several emails back and fore, same response, no explanation what was actually going on. Ended up doing a chargeback through the bank and luckily it worked. Awful customer service. Be careful.

Ordered item that was supposedly in stock. When I queried why it wasn’t arriving I was told the truth that they didn’t have it in stock. After 5 weeks I still cannot get my refund of £2,500. The owner John is not answering my calls and ignoring me. I have to take legal action now. I would not recommend.

I have now received my refund and an apology from the owner.

We made a purchase on the 16 August via the website for a camera and lens at a cost of £6599. These items were stated to be in stock We received some messages early on that the items were shipping or delayed. Our recent requests on the status and finally to cancel the order have been ignored. We have neither our cash nor the product.
We are now in the process of reporting this matter to the police.

Absolutely frightening customer service. Essentially seems like this place is a scam.
Basically I ordered an item that was shown as in stock when it wasn’t. After eventually receiving an email a week later saying it’s ‘taking longer than expected’ I cancelled the order. (Which in itself wasn't easy, after a few emails with no response I had to keep calling to eventually get through). Finally I was told on the phone that my order had been cancelled, after receiving excuses about their refund system and the fact they work from home etc. Despite asking on each occasion for a confirmation email I didn’t receive one until I insisted they did it then and there. I’ve STILL not received my refund at the time of this post and it’s been over a month. Hence I will have to go through my bank to report this payment as a scam / dispute.
Avoid like the plague.

Edited - the fact that the response below says they don’t know who I am and they think I’m a fake customer tells you that they do this kind of thing all the time.

Paid £700 for goods I NEVER received! The manager and owner of this company John Never resolved the matter and the communication was very poor! He lied about sending emails with updates. I was promised a re-delivery date for a camera and this did not materialise. I paid for my goods a month ago and to date I’ve NEVER received my camera or a refund!! John never resolved the issue and lied about re-delivery dates. Very Unprofessional and I feel like I’ve been scammed!! I wouldn’t recommend this company as the level of customer service is disgusting. I’m very dissatisfied with the outcome of the matter. A complaint will be filled with trading standards as a result of not receiving what I had paid for or getting my money back for never receiving the goods I paid for!!! Very angry and frustrated!!

After a similar experience to others below and waiting a significant amount of time for an update, HPreston has resolved the problem and delivered the items to us.

The owner made us aware of a personal health situation that caused this delay, while communication could have been better from the start once they began to sort the delay communication was good.

If ordering worth chatting to the team first and getting expectations on time frame sorted first, but they will deliver.

Thank you.

I ordered an FX6 in April 2021, I never received it. In the 18 months I waited I emailed or called every month or so and was never given any concrete update. I understood this was due to chip shortages and import issues which made sense as other suppliers seemed to have the same issue.

Over the 18 month wait I heard of FX6's trickling in and into the hands of colleagues and other production companies. It seemed larger suppliers like CVP, Visuals and Park Cameras were slowly fulfilling orders. But not HPreston.

In November this year many other suppliers were in fact showing the camera as in stock for immediate dispatch. I assumed this would be the same at HPreston so I got back in touch. To which I was told the same answer I had been hearing for 18 months, 'no stock, we'll let you know as soon as we have an update'.

At this point I requested a refund. John Preston whom I had been dealing with all this time refused saying 'At the moment I do not have the funds to do this I will'

That same day 18/11 the same camera was on sale on the landing page of the HPreston website at a discounted price for Black Friday.

Heavily promoting and reducing the price of a camera that they haven't had any stock of for more than a year is shady and unfair to customers. Refusing returns is illegal.

In the end I had to reclaim my money through my credit card company and purchase the camera elsewhere. I received it immediately.

During the entire 18 month wait the FX6 was on the landing page of the HPreston website the entire time. In big red letters next to the purchase button is the slightly misleading and urgent message 'Order today within (hours, minutes, second countdown) and you'll receive your package (the next day). Some orders which are Imported and in short supply may take longer' in big red letters. I wonder how many other customers have been tricked by this countdown.

BEWARE of this company. It is not an official supplier of Sony products and is a massive SCAM!
