Craig, Tom and the MRL team have supported many events for our clients, from small conferences to large outdoor staged events. They are professional, experienced and hard working. Nothing is ever to much trouble, even when the client leaves everything to the last minute!

Just played at the event Greystock in Wivenhoe. I have been a drummer for 12 years and also worked as a sound engineer at a number of festivals and been involved in stage management. What can I say other than shocking and an abysmal lack of organisation and poor sound engineering. I arrived to be told that the drum kit on stage was owned by another band member and that I would have to use the house kit. This kit was totally out of tune, damaged and came with zero cymbal stands. (Luckily I bought my own). Once on stage and set up with the help of no one as there was no stage manager present other than one woman who clearly had never done stage management in her life. I proceeded to play my set hearing absolutely nothing on stage even though I had a stage monitor measuring over 4ft in height right in front of me. After repeatedly asking to turn up nothing changed. Our set was both 50 mins late and cut short due to non existent stage management. On exiting the stage (again with no help from the stage hands who stood their doing nothing) I proceeded to watch the next band from the front. What I heard was what I would describe as a crime against sound engineering. The most appalling drum eq I’ve ever heard and all the rest of the instruments unbalanced sounding like a flushing toilet. A low drone rung over the whole set too which the sound engineers did absolutely nothing to correct. The guy running the desk just sat their using his vape. (Probably to make himself forget how poor his skill set is).
It is important to remember that this wasn’t a small event. It was a large one with many hundreds of people present and a large stage plan with a reasonably complex list of bands to manage. Do not ever get these clueless people to sort sound for an event because it will end in disaster. Not to mention the actual event organisers themselves who were hardly present and set up a stage management system as useful as a chocolate teapot
