Halfords - Cambridge

Lovely efficient friendly staff in the bike dept upstairs. Measured my head and fitted my cycle helmet. I was about to buy the wrong size! New member of staff it said on his shirt- didn’t get his name, think he was Spanish?or possibly Italian. His customer service was outstanding- hope his bosses look after him and keep him on.

Wierdly understaffed, talking about the cycle section. Went to get basket installed on my bike during the open hours, the guy said it's just me on the floor, so he can't install it. What sense does that make!
Plus you have to carry your bike all the way up and down the stairs, there's a customer lift but the staff prohibits to use it.

We visited Halfords Cambridge to order a new passenger-side wing mirror glass from Halfords Cambridge for our Hyundai, having first used our car reg to identify the code for the 'correct' spare part. The store didn't have one in stock but ordered one. When we went to collect it a few days later, it was the wrong one for our car. The staff ordered a replacement and a week later I went to collect it. Yet again it was the wrong one, both in shape and being driver's side instead of passenger side. The staff member conceded that the laminated pages of spare parts on the shelf for customers to inspect are not always up to date. Having lost all trust, I gave up and got a refund. The staff member suggested I try Euro Car Parts and when I went there they immediately informed me that as our car is quite new (2017) this spare part is not widely available and can only be got from a Hyundai dealer. Why doesn't Halfords know this?! I'm not blaming your staff - they did their best but were on a hiding to nothing because your procurement system isn't fit for purpose. I will never use Halfords again for spare parts. Also, my 3 futile visits to your store over nearly 3 weeks to try and sort this cost almost more in petrol than the spare part was worth (£16).

I've been here today (14/11/22) for a 10 points car check. The boy who helped me at the checkout was really helpful and very very kind. The technician was also very kind and nice. Two examples of how to do your job professionally. Thank you!

Extremely efficient service and competent advice. Eddie ( not sure about the name) went out in the rain to check the size of my car tyres on the car park before ordering the Tyre Socks, Could not have been better. I was impressed

I went in on Monday morning for a light bulb and window wipers, they were brilliant, let me know some benefits available, helped me access them online, that then lead to my tyres being checked discovering one quite low, bulb and blades and fit a good price.
I had a 5 star experience because they were polite, informative and didn't mind that I didn't know everything about my motor,

Good service. The part I ordered by click and collect was supposed to be available in seven days but I got a message to say it was ready next day. Can't really complain about that but would have been helpful if they could have given an accurate date for collection when I ordered.

The team who work here are patient, efficient, helpful and really offer excellent customer care.
I have been a few times and they always take the time to understand what you need, provide good advice without pushing a sale.
