I purchased a rear number plate on line to be collected at my local store. I got a confirmation email saying I could collect it after one hour, and they would text and email me to say when it was ready. No text/email arrived, so the next day I telephoned and they said the instruction to make the plate had been at my local branch since yesterday.
I went to the store and at the cashpoint the young lady asked for my order number, which I showed her on my phone. At this point she entered into a conversation with another member of staff and when finished, took my order number and instructed another member of staff to make the plate, telling me to, "hover about over there", while pointing to my left.
The young lady that made the plate, brought it out to me and was very friendly, so no complaints there.
Reading this, you might think these comments are minor and to some extent they are, but after experiencing this, it just makes you feel that you don't really want to shop at that store again.
In fact, if I had read the large number of 1 star reviews before hand, I would have probably purchased elsewhere.

Went in to measure up a bike for daughter so helpful and knowledgeable we was amazed at the customer service chris sold us all what he recommended and we will be purchasing online to customised our order. Chris looked at both me and my husband when he was talking which is such good customer service .

Booked a fitting assessment for a in car entertainment system. So went there and they didn’t even need to check the car. Was a bit pointless. They then ordered the stereo and parts and booked us in for a fitting. The morning of that fitting day we got a call to be told it was water damaged. Surely this could have been checked a few days before. Anyway they then said they would ring us in the next days with a new date for fitting. We got no call. So we went to the shop to be told the fitter was off unwell which was fair enough but they said they couldn’t even check his schedule. Which is defintley not true. Surely someone in the store would have access to the master schedule. They didn’t even know if a new stereo had been ordered. We got told we would get rang on the Thursday when he was back in. However we got no call. They even wrote our name and phone number down. So we went to the shop again. They said they would re order a third stereo just as a back up. In other words they were saying it hadn’t been reordered. They then said the next fitting date was 11 days away. As the only fitter was on holiday. So we cancelled it. Awful customer service.

The queue was really long and only two people on the till. On the other till it looked like the lady was serving. Went over and asked the lady is she was serving she said not yet she will call us over. She said she had called the manager to help. The manager came out and rather than helping she was rude and unhelpful. She didn’t go on till but just glared at people. We weren’t happy and voiced this to her and she gave no apology or tried to assist by helping on the till. No wonder every time you visit this store the staff are rude when they have this woman as a leader and trainer. Clearly from previous reviews there is a culture of rudeness breeding in this store, after meeting the manager I can see why!
She needs a course in customer care!

Booked for a car bulb replacement on passenger which is a basic job on a 2010 reg model. The staff were unable to do it, such a waste of time
Repair and fitters at Halfords need to be experienced staff but that doesn’t seem to be the case in Riverside branch of Halfords.
Refund of the transaction took ages too..

This was the first time I have used the Halfords Motor Service,
they gave my car a FREE 10 point check over and fitted some new headlight bulbs, I was delighted and drove away after about half an hour, excellent.

Ordered a dash cam online, including fitting. Arranged the fitting date and time. The fitting calendar was made available as soon as I paid. I received several updates and instruction that my items were ready for collection at my designated store. The person in the Halfords store was very cheerful, courteous, efficient and helpful. She checked my details, collected the items and then checked that my precooked appointment was correct. The overall price was very competitive. The whole transaction was flawless. I hope the fitting will live up to expectations.
