I rang PP as I was aware of their reputation of being a proper body shop. John took the call and booked me in to see Dave Hornsey (their body shop manager). Dave is one of the nicest and most professional individuals I have had the privilege to meet. He assessed the damage, and provided his verdict managing my expectations about their ability to save my car while also providing reassurance. I knew after this meeting Dave would do everything he could to help me save my car (and he did). He contacted the insurance co on my behalf taking a huge pressure off my shoulders and spent a lot of time on it before the repair was approved.
Dave’s verdict was that the rear boot panel needed replacing entirely which was slightly at odds with the insurance assessment engineer (who felt it could have been beaten out) but Dave persuaded them it was the right approach. I have no doubt that had it not been for Dave she would have been written off!
Given the car was 21 you can’t get parts from Honda so I found a donor and literally cut the rear 1/4 off it and delivered it to PP. PP put me in touch with Magna who handled a courtesy car and PP worked with them to make the collection and return seamless and hassle free.
The donor 1/4 I provided was in bad shape with a lot of surface rust on the panel which PP hadn’t counted on. Despite this John and Dave looked at it and decided they would make it work, despite it being more challenging.
3 days before she was due in to PP the car was involved in a second accident damaging the front and this time I was at fault. John assessed it and worked with me to create a plan to sort it out again providing reassurance during 3 of the most difficult months of my life.
They started working on the insurance repair and their body guy Rees did an unbelievable job stripping the panel back to clean metal, pulling the boot floor, drilling out the old panel and replacing it to such a high standard that no one can tell any work has been done on the car!
After the insurance repair was complete John put me in their own courtesy car (which they utilise for short loans but John made an exception and let me use it for the next two months to keep me mobile).
They started working on the other areas we agreed upon but due to complexity, cost and other considerations the works constantly kept evolving which can’t have been easy for John and Dave as it required a lot of their time and a lot of follow up meetings. Despite this they showed patience and professionalism throughout.
It ended up turning into a near complete restoration, after going so far why stop?
John provided me the opportunity to do some of the work in his shop myself given the extent of work being done and his appreciation of the situation. This unprecedented action helped me out immensely.
Because I had the opportunity to spend some time in the shop I got to work with their team and witness first hand the skill, enthusiasm, passion, dedication and detail they all apply to what they do. It really is an unbelievable team PP have and it shows in the results they consistently achieve.
I can’t thank John, Dave, Jay, Rees, Dan, Connor, David and the rest of the team enough for what they did for me and my car. They did an amazing job in every respect and it’s now one of the best condition Del Sol’s still on the road.
Five months on my paint is still perfect!
Thanks guys!
Having had a few issues with my insurance I was told about Paint Perfect and they managed to locate my car. From then on they made my stressful time with the insurers less stressful.
Dave, in particular, who has decades of experience and knowledge reassured me that all would be well. I was kept up to date and I felt safe in that they knew what they were doing.
When I went to pick up my car I was met with friendly and professionsl staff. Extremely organised and all very personable.
As for my car? It actually looks better than before the collision. I just cannot think of enough good things to say about Paint Perfect. I actually felt like crying with relief and wonderment in how they had so successfully mananaged to repair the damage.
They phoned with regular updates, warned if there were delays with delivery of the numerous parts needed, and always kept us in the picture.
When it was finished they delivered it to our house at no extra charge and in a pristine condition. This is Customer Service that you seldom get nowadays. Superb in every way! Thank you.
