True to their word and very knowledgeable/professional guys. All the work I required was carried out and it seems my car is now fixed and mechanically better than it has ever been! As a bonus they supply courtesy cars, I'm not local so this was vital for me in order to be able to get the work done.

Background information (be warned, its long!):
Over the past 2 years or so my car suffered from a rough idle when starting from cold. It would only last about 30 seconds or so then it was fine for the duration of the journey. My car is a 2010 BMW E92 330D LCI (N57 Engine) that I have since owned for 4~ years and put around 80,000 miles on (always filled with Shell V-Power & used the best oil). My commute consists of a 60 mile round trip in back to back traffic on the motorway, this probably attributed to the symptoms over the years.
At first the rough idling would only occur in -°c conditions. I remember one day it was particularity bad that the car shut off. This is what finally made me start researching the problem. I found out that it was most likely the glow plugs/heating module at fault. I used ISTA+ to check for error codes and sure enough there was an entry about a communication issue with the glow plug controller. I bought said parts but didn't act on it after finding out it could be quite a difficult job if I tried to fit them myself, especially if something went wrong! As I rely on the car massively this just wasn't worth the risk. However a few months later I noticed the rough idle would happen even in warmer temperatures (still only from a cold start though). This ultimately led me to researching 'coked up engines' (built up carbon deposits). The key to clearing this build up (bar a full engine strip down) is walnut blasting the inlets/valves. The process requires specialist skills/equipment to carry it out and I believe having the right adapters depending on the model of engine is equally as important for it to work.
Now, let me state that I searched many garages around the North West and couldn't find a single one that would offer this service, except Blackpool Motor Works! One in particular that stood out was a so called renown BMW specialist garage based in St Helens, strangely when I asked if they could do it I was told it wasn't possible on diesel engines?! Which is obviously a load of rubbish and shows how much of a clue some garages DON'T have about this topic.

To cut a long story short - After having my inlets walnut blasted and the new glow plugs/control module fitted the rough idling has vanished and the car feels smooth, pretty much like it is brand new again.

I would highly recommend having this work carried out and using these guys if your car is suffering from the same symptoms!

Very friendly and know what their doing. I had an abs light on the dash of my BMW I tried my own diagnostic machine but couldn't find the problem. Left my car with them and was going to get a taxi home but they offered me a loan car free of charge. Top customer service, car was repaired same day at a reasonable cost would easily recommend them.

Found this gem of a garage after main bmw garage lloyds struggled to fit a replacement panoramic sunblind on my bmw 5 series. The very knowledgeable receptionist Dawne got me booked in and the fantastic mechanics at Motor Works BMW managed to fit a new blind without too many issues ( and a lot cheaper too). If you have a bmw then THIS is the place to come. Professional service from all involved. Thank you!

Jag XF died with flat battery due to alternator fault. The RAC patrol man recommended this garage, my usual garage couldn’t look at the car for three weeks. The RAC rescued the car to the garage on a Monday afternoon and ready for collection on the next Friday morning, with new alternator fitted.
Dawne on the front desk was very helpful and kept me up to date with text messages.
Happy to recommend this garage.

Wow, what an absolute gem of a garage this is tucked away in Lytham. We had our BMW X3 in for repair today and can not praise this company enough for the excellent service they have provided. This started from the ease in booking it in with a lady on reception, who was extremely thorough and knowledgable.
A courtesy car was provided for us FOC, then a technician went over the car to rectify the reported issues and then carried out a full electronic diagnostics check resetting the VTG settings. Following this he carried out a road test to ensure the repair was a success all for £52.00 including the VAT.
We’ll definitely be using this company again!!!

I brought my car in last week for Walnut Blasting, and all I can say is WOW ! This company went above and beyond anything I have ever experienced in customer service and workman ship. From the start at reception, to the quality of the work, and even got to chat with the technician that carried out the work on my car, is just outstanding ! You don’t even get this service from the Main Dealers. When I driven the car home I was nearly in tears because the car has never been this good, was amazed. I would 1000% recommended this company and will be be taking my business here again, not with the main dealers. Also you get a courtesy car free of charge. Just wow thank you so much 👍
