From the outside, Porschatech may not have all the glitz and glamour of say a main dealer or a big, well established Porsche specialist. But having been recommended by a work neighbour who owns three air-cooled 911s I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

Alex is very friendly and knowledgeable, and also has that rare virtue that is increasingly difficult to come by in the mechanic world - honesty. He undertook a major service on my 987 Cayman S (52,000 miles) and identified a few issues that although did not require immediate attention, would need sorting in time.

Prior to handing him my car I already knew my front brake discs were scored and pitted and we had even discussed replacing both discs and pads before he had even seen the car. But Alex advised that there was still life in the pads and discs (despite the condition of the latter) and it would make more sense to change both at the same time only once I start receiving the 'worn pad' warning light on the dash (pads have about 40% life remaining).

He went on to explain that the condition of the discs would only become a problem if the car was put through prolonged periods of heavy breaking, whereby the cooling vents/ducts would not be as effective as they should be. Seeing as I don't track the car, not a problem!

In concluding, do not make the mistake of judging Porschatech from the outside. Take your car there in the knowledge that it'll be in safe hands and you won't be charged silly money for labour just because you own a Porsche.

Finally found a garage that doesn't rip you off because its a Porsche! Alex is very professional and explains everything you need to know! He actually solves problems instead of telling you they need to be replaced. E.g. another local garage (who has good online reviews) quoted over £900 for an AC related problem which they said needed replacing and Alex sorted it for £70. I just wish i started going to Alex a few years ago.

Great workshop. Quality work with quality parts. Taken car there quite a few times and wouldn't go anywhere else. Value for money work and the car runs like new every time its serviced there.

Always very honest and never undertake work without prior permission so no nasty surprises. Will always try and help in tricky situations and are a real lifeline. Best garage I have ever used and never go elsewhere.

Thoroughly recommended Porschatech who have been servicing and repairing faults on my 911. Recently replaced A/C and all break lines and pipes to an excellent standard. Great communications with clear explanations on the work being carried out. 100% recommended.

Wow - Not sure if I really want to write this review since these guys are a diamond in the rough they might get too busy :) Alex and his team are superb. I have recently acquired my first Porsche a 911 (991) fully serviced but the servicing guidelines say only change the PDK gearbox oil every 120,000 miles which frankly seems too long to me. I wanted to be assured all the fluids had been changed. I contacted Alex through a recommendation having spoken with a few other independents he was the friendliest, most knowledgeable and cheapest by far quoting around £200 when others were quoting £600. On collection he said also changed the clutch oil only a small amount so didn't charge - ever heard a dealer or one of those flashy independents say that ? My car will never go anywhere else. The car was ready on time and I have no doubt Porschatech can undertake any job. A real find.

Took my 2007 Cayman in for it's first major service under my ownership. I was expecting a lumpy bill but in fairness to Alex he said I only needed to do an intermediate service (saving me a couple of hundred quid in the process). He was very informative on what may need to be done down the line, what to do to delay further corrosion in places and gave some great general intel for a first time owner. All in all, very pleased.

First experience of Alex, David and the team at Porschatech in recent weeks, but it will not be my last - as I was highly impressed with the service, the price, the reliability and the friendly/professional approach. Many thanks guys
