Their service is quick and reliable, and their courtesy cars are excellent.

Unfortunately they’re also rather expensive, as you might expect for a Volvo garage.

I had my car serviced here, and had a DPF filter changed. When I had the DPF filter changed, I asked how much it would cost, to which I was told £900. This seemed exorbitant for a part that costs under £300, but at that point they’d already run diagnostics, which was already £200 or so. Of course, when I went to pick the car up the bill was suddenly over £1000. I queried this, asking why it was so much higher than the estimate. I was met with a puzzled look, the man on the front desk walked out back, and when he came back in he apologised, apparently my bill included a part that actually hadn’t been replaced. He adjusted the bill to £830

I think he expected I’d be happy with saving so much money, instead I thought about how arbitrary the price was, and how many other parts on my bill actually hadn’t been replaced. Many people might not have queried the accounting, and simply been charged extra due to a ‘mistake’ like this one.

Unsurprisingly, I won’t be going back here. I used an independent garage for my service this year, the bill was just over £200, a huge relief after last year’s service at the Volvo garage, which was over £700!

Exceptional service from Gavin and his team. Fitted me in promptly for some Volvo safety recall work and very kindly resolved another problem at the same time.

Excellent service had a major problem with my XC40 which they repaired with great difficulty very pleased with them. Thx guys.

Petersfield Volvo are fantastic. Brilliant service. Nothing too much trouble. Real attention to detail. Gavin keeps you updated with what ever is needed and why. Really do not know how Gavin manages to deliver this great level of service... he is there well before opening and after closing... does this man not sleep!

John and the team are a pleasure to deal with, polite and to the point, first service on my XC60 and it went though without an issue. COVID rule as annoying as they are were followed to the letter. I highly recommend Cambridge Garage for any car needs. Thank you!
