If you like me and don't like main dealer prices then these guys are for you, I bought pair of race stainless manifolds for my 997 and only took them couple of hours to fit which to me looked hell of a job! Couldnt fault them and after a year they still going strong! Lowerd springs next!
Service included plugs, drive belt rear brake pipes exchanged and brake fluid flush.
Really happy with the work completed but not happy with the work omitted.
Some facts make your own mind up
Coolant low, when I checked the day after the service (I topped up and it has stayed at that level since) I had a leak I was told, I asked were the coolant pipes ok? as part of the major service inspection, the reply to me yes all ok. My reply so where is my leak. .
Oil mark on tan passenger seat has been clean and apology accepted.
Major service carried out yet the car failed mot 2 weeks later with 2 broken suspension springs one of which had been broken for a long time, fractured area was rusted.
Front vents left full of debris.
A/C not reported and not working would have liked indication and a cost to repair.
Car was given back dirty, covered with with dust.
Paid major service and extra (?) labour for belt, plugs, brake pipes and brake fluid flush. total £1091.
When I questioned the whole episode I was sworn at down the phone and told not to return there.
Not from there, but another local Porsche specialist a friend and colleague took his 986 Boxster for major service, had all the work done I had, with a few corrected jobs and a report on the car. all for £480 including all parts and labour, and a full list of issues.
I was also charged £50 an hour where the website says £40, I challenged it but was instructed to pay £50.
Make your own minds' up.
Overall a very unpleasant experience but I am convinced the work that was done was done to a high standard.
Expected a cost of around 2 hrs tops (and based upon experience that's generous) but as they kindly agreed to fit it in urgently I was happy to pay a premium.
However when I went to pay the bill 1hr 50 mins later I was asked for the equivalent of 4 hrs labour, when questioned they got very defensive and started muttering about the complexity and how I was paying for the skills??? That's what the hourly labour rate pays for isn't it!
Ended up settling on £200 and walking away. It's a real shame because the quality of work is always good but suspect times are hard and I respect that, after all the last 18 months has been hard through pandemic but over charging and not being transparent means people will start to question the honesty and that I'm afraid will not keep customers coming back.
I hope this review is read by the D9 team as I genuinely think the work is of a high standard and would love to see the business continue to serve their loyal customers.
I was given a quote before dropping my car there. It was a good price and the hourly price of £50 per hour for work on these cars is an absolute bargain. I then asked for some extra bits to be done on the car and at every point along the way I was given a clear price for each work and the new total, before any work was done.
I picked up the car and the final price was exactly what I agreed - no surprises. I had option to take all my old parts with me (no thanks but I can see exactly what was changed anyway).
I'm so happy with the car now I've got it back. It runs awesome feels and sounds like new again and the money I spent on the rebuild will be onto the value of the car anyway.
I can recommend this place definitely - I've got a lot of confidence in this garage and will be using them for as long as I keep the car or own another porsche.
It's funny to see people moaning in reviews about spending a £1k on some repair work for a porsche. I recommend calling the main dealer for a quote for your car before calling D9, and then with the difference in cost you can get a two floor extension put onto your house.
A big thanks to Anthony for the good work.
