They cut out the old wives tales of flying and focus on actually making confident GA pilots who will fly once they get PPL and not just park off their skills to later deteriorate...!

Brilliant! 4 week PPL, most people think it’s unachievable however most flying schools aren’t like Academy Aviation. The sheer dedication from the instructors who put all their time and effort into the students so they can gain as much as possible in the time that they are there is extremely appreciated.

During the 28 days I spent at North weald airfield i learned so much thanks to my Fantastic instructor Gavin who i would hand on heart recommend any one to fly with. Through his hard work and support he allowed me to achieve my PPL to a high standard. Even the fellow students helped and supported me in my time there which was much appreciated again.

Great flight school which makes you feel like you're part of a family. Would definitely recommend Academy Aviation!!! Very professional and kind instructors which goes above and beyond to help you learn, understand flying and getting aviation knowledge! With possibility of intensive courses together with ground school facilities intensive course it helps a lot when you are busy person or unable to learn theory and home with kids running around and distracting you. I spent already 6 months at Academy Aviation and enjoyed every single moment with them starting with professional instructors Eddie, Gavin, Aria very well maintained aircrafts (I'm in love with G-BUIK) and ending with very friendly students.

Great Flight School that encourages and looks after their students and keeps them involved once they have completed their training with fly out days.

I started my PPL here in May 2021 and completed it in April 2022 in just over minimum hours thanks to the help from this fantastic school.

The instructors at Academy Aviation are highly experienced and are true enthusiasts who take a practical approach to flying and help you enjoy your training while also ensuring you become a safe pilot. During training you will be taught to use the Skydemon software, so you'll be ready to plan your own trips and navigate the busy London airspace when you finish your training.

I was able to complete my training in the economical 2-seater Tecnam Sierra before progressing onto the 4-seater Piper Warrior II after gaining my PPL, which I now rent from the school for trips with friends. The school has a fleet of two of each aircraft with good availability for both training and solo hire.

The school also organises events periodically including airfield BBQs and cross-channel fly-outs for current and former students to attend and meet other pilots.

At North Weald you have the benefit of two great cafes and a long paved runway perfect for training, and there's always something interesting to see whether it's spitfires, dakotas, vintage jets or the NPAS and air ambulance helicopters.

I'd highly recommend Academy Aviation to anyone wishing to try out flying!

Started my flight training here in 2021 at 15 years old. Eddie and Gavin have been so patient with me and have been able to adapt to my availability. I did my first solo at the age of 16 and I couldn't have done it without the help of these fantastic instructors. I recommend academy aviation to everyone.

Brilliant flight school! I joined Academy Aviation with 7 hours total time through recommendation due to being messed around by money oriented flight schools in the same area with different instructors every lesson. I gained more knowledge in 1 lesson with Academy Aviation than I did within 7 hours with previous flight schools. I completed my PPL near minimum hours. The professionalism here is outstanding with experienced instructors that go the extra mile in helping you even in their off duty time. I highly recommend this school. From my first phone call to Academy Aviation around 3 years ago, it was obvious to me that Eddie Lamb is an extraordinary character, and his immense love of flying came through clearly. When I turned up for my trial flight, I wasn't disappointed - his enthusiasm for flying is second to none. When I flew with him he was straight talking and firm. If I was struggling with some aspect of my flying, I'd return for my next lesson to find he'd been thinking of ways to help me overcome my difficulty by approaching things differently. All the instructors have great personalities and teach in different ways. Gavin was great fun to fly with - it was so much fun I never noticed time passing. My main instructor was Aria. He was calm and kind, and made me feel right at home so I was relaxed even when I was finding something challenging, like my landings. At times I was tempted to give up but Aria made time to talk things over with me and made me believe I could do it. And he was right, as I got my licence last year. Everyone I met there was so friendly, and I'm now part of a flying group with some wonderful people.

I'm currently preparing for a 1,300 mile solo flight to Southern Spain and Eddie is always happy to help with planning this. I can't wait to set out on this adventure which would never have been possible without Eddie and Academy Aviation.
