Stopped off with the wife for a coffee and cake. Absolutely wonderful cakes and a fantastic display of sandwiches and rolls...tempted, but we were on our way for Easter lunch! We have eaten their cakes and bread before, and they are delicious. Today we had a cinnamon bun and an almond croissant along with a Cappuccino each, as we relaxed whilst spending a little time people watching. Highly recommended.

Quite simply one of the best smaller modern foodie havens

Full of deliciousness, pastries and multitude of options to snack, nibble and graze on

Everything there is so well presented and the quality is reflected throughout

From hot drinks to iced delights, such as the newly discovered chilled chai latte

Give Gail’s a go, you won’t be disappointed

Rude staff.
Was having my coffee whilst a member of staff told me to leave 30 minutes before their closing time, even though they made me pay for “staying in” price. I was aware they closing in half hour so didn’t say a thing (tried to be kind) and took my coffee and was about to leave. Another person came outside and banged the roof the loudest way possible, probably to make sure I heard it, I jumped, because of the noise and the roof going down.
I get it, everyone wants to go home in the end of the day, but there’s a nice way to say it. I was walking out, two seconds will not change a thing.

I asked to heat my cheese sandwich as it was cold , staff refused and said they don’t heat their bakeries, we ordered also Salmon Bagel and bagel was not fresh at all , overall service was not good , no even tap water to drink

Great start to the week at quick stop here in Monday morning! Pastries just coming from the kitchen and team rushing to place them on display. You can never go wrong with a pain au chocolate melting in your mouth and a flat white. Fast service even with a lot of people queuing for their morning fix at 6.35am girls on shift delivered coffee quick. Recommend it !

Excellent as always. Service fantastic. The only downside is that it's so popular that it's difficult to get a seat on weekends...the sign of a very good place I guess. Never had a bad experience at Gails.

I had such a wonderful experience at Gail's Balham today which compelled me to write this review. Two waitresses, Saffron and Lucia absolutely blew me away with their unmatched hospitality. They were friendly, kind, attentive and cheerful. They welcomed me into the clean, comfortable and quaint establishment with a bright smile and a "how can I help you". I ordered and just as I sat down Saffron brought my food and drink to me, beautifully displayed on a spotless tray. I would reccomend Gail's Balham for anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming environment, fast service and delicious coffee! :)
