The cafe itself is nice enough, service is okay. I ordered a pancake which tasted alright but wouldn’t go back and pay £6 just for one filled with peanut butter, fruit and a small amount of chocolate drizzle on top. My husband ordered the big breakfast which was also average, the bacon was too over cooked and tough and his glass smelt like egg or it had been washed alongside something that egg was washed in.
I ordered an anniversary cake 2 weeks ahead IN STORE and asked for it to be heart shaped with a photo printed onto it they said no problem and confirmed 2 weeks was enough time. On the pick up day I decided to check everything is okay early in the morning (pick up was meant to be around 4pm they said no specific time since they would be open - no warning they would be closed) but when I went to the bakery it was CLOSED FOR THE DAY. In a separate message to a friend on the day of the pick up they said they were always closed on Wednesdays ( INDICATED NOWHERE OR THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST WARNED US WHEN WE ORDERED IT PERSONALLY / TELL US NOT TO PICK IT UP ON A WEDNESDAY (WHICH WAS THE DAY THEY APPROVED)) JUST ABSOLUTE LIES! I called them on the phone MULTIPLE TIMES but NO ONE answered. I then tried to contact them on facebook and after a few hours they FINALLY REPLIED that someone will be there at 5.30 specifically to give me the cake - HAD I NOT MESSAGED THEM NO ONE WOULD HAVE COME IN TO GIVE ME THE CAKE . Upon arrival they gave me the photo they held onto for 2 WEEKS AND SAID SORRY WE COULDN'T PRINT IT ONTO THE CAKE last minute leaving without other options for my parents' anniversary party so I agreed since it was better than NO CAKE at least it said HAPPY ANNIVERSARY - BUT NO IT DID NOT. The cherry on top was the spelling mistake I noticed 5 minutes after receiving it (not straight away due to being in a rush) I promptly returned to the shop but they had already locked it. When I confronted them about it they claimed they told me the photo cannot be printed onto the cake in advance because it was too small - IN STORE THEY CONFIRMED THIS WAS POSSIBLE AND HELD ONTO THE PHOTO FOR 2 WEEKS - WHY IF IT WAS NEVER POSSIBLE TO BE DONE? I would have either found a place that can do it or asked for a larger cake so that the photo can be printed. It is all an attempt to HIDE THEIR LAST MINUTE JOB EVEN THOUGH THE ORDER WAS MADE AHEAD OF TIME. IN A MESSAGE THEY CLAIMED ALL KINDS OF LIES AS TO WHY IT HAPPENED AND ESSENTIALLY BLAMED ME. THE RECEIPT THEY GAVE ME HAD NO DETAILS OF WHAT EXACTLY I HAD ORDERED SO IT SERVED ME AS NO PROOF WHEN I SENT IT TO THEM SINCE THEY CONTINUED TO BE ARROGANT AND TWIST THE TRUTH. THEY TREAT THEIR CLIENTS AS THEY ARE MEANT TO GIVE THEM MONEY FOR BOTCHED CAKES AND SEE NOTHING WRONG. LOOK AT THE CAKE IT IS NEITHER A HEART NOR IS THE WRITING GOOD!!!!
Incredibly upsetting experience. I decided to order a cake for my son's first birthday here because one year ago I ordered a cake and it was delicious but this time it all went so wrong.
We ordered the cake last Tuesday to be made for Saturday 8th February. We agreed on the cake and paid for it. On the birthday day I went to pick up the cake and the bakery was CLOSED!!!
No texts, no phone calls, not a sign at the shop letting me know anything.
I have been left on the most important day of this year without a cake for my baby.
I then read other reviews and unfortunately I noticed someone else had the same problem, and also she couldn't call as no one answered only through Facebook. Same thing happen to me. They then apologised they had a family matter. Fine I know something can go wrong to anyone but no letting your customers know means other people will be sad.
I would like to conclude that my advise is to keep well away from this place and my advise to the owner of the place to find a job he could really deliver and avoiding making customers angry.
