Wenzel's the Bakers

Love this place and very happy they opened in Finchley. I buy bread weekly that they slice for me and its lovely. Their sourdough is good as well as the bloomer. I bought a sandwich meal deal for £4.50 which was chicken salad on sourdough, crisps and a drink. It was well worth it and so much better than supermarket meal deals.

I see they have hot food but not had a chance to try yet.

I started ordering at Wenzels a few weeks ago because I like that they had the vegan cheese sandwich and I'm really allergic to dairy. Sadly I couldnt find it on the uber eats app menu so I called them up and the lady there told me that I can easily order the regular cheese sandwich and make a note to make it vegan. I did this a few times and it worked out perfectly. However doing the same steps today I received the sandwich with real cheese which I gladly noticed and called them because there was no note or warning that the cheese is with dairy which could cause me a lot of harm. The same woman I talked to before picked up and even recognize me as a customer and told me that they dont have vegan cheese so they ignored my notes for the allergies and the request to make it vegan and gave me a regular one. She informed me that they dont offer vegan cheese anymore. If you check the website you can still order it for pick up which I also told her but she ignored it. I asked her for a solution and she informed me that she cannot provide me one and I cannot get refunded. When I informed her that I'm a really unhappy customer and I'd like a solution to this issue she legit told me that she cannot help me and constantly said "this is what you ordered orginally". (Keep in mind that she was the one giving me instructions how to order it vegan). After a while she struggled and said she tried to call me but I didnt pick up but this is not true, the correct number was saved in my uber application. Call ended by her hanging up on me because I raised the concern that I'm not satisfied with the service and her response to this issue.
In my opinion this is a really poor service especially when it is about allergies and when informing them about an issue to not beeing able to provide me a solution and to not care and hang up on me.

Me and my cousin visited wenzels in North finchley with high hopes of finding a good competitor to Greg's. We were immediately drawn in with the 99p sausage role AD at the front of the shop. "This is the same price as Greg's" we said enthusiastically. As we ventured into the store we were immediately hit with a display of a huge variety and colours on the shelves with drinks, sandwiches and other freshly baked products. However the prices were not too inviting which is why I think the only AD they had outside the shop was showing 99p sausage roles. However we were not here for anything else except for the sausage roles. Upon arrival to the till the lady was very warm and welcoming (however it was nothing compared to the warm smile and appreciation i got in Greg's) we asked for 1 sausage role and she asked if their was anything else we would like. The sausage role was very warm and fresh which is good as it insured it was fresh. As we tucked in to our fresh sausage role the first thing you notice immediately is the lack of taste when it initially makes contact with your tongue. The texture of the breading was crispy unlike Greg's infamous flakey breading. Now on to the sausage. This definitely disappointed us as we expected something to compete with the undefeated Greg's. The sausage just mushed up in our mouths there was a lack of consistency and texture, which made us feel like we were eating something that had been made with no effort and affection at all unlike the Greg's sausage roll where it is always made with 100% love. In conclusion the wenzels sausage roll is something to buy in a hurry when there's no other options.

Hi there,i was in the shop about 4.10-4.20... today 24/06/2022 afternoon and i've bought a sourdough bread...when I was pay it my bank card fell out of my hand all the way under the counter...there was a young man and a young lady working in the store.
The young lady immediately hurried to my aid, dismantled the counter a little ,and few minutes later handed me the bank card.

I have been ordering breakfast and bread to be delivered from this place for over 2 years. I like that they open early. The service is very quick.
The sourdough bread is really good and highly recommended.
There are loyalty cards for buying bread (buy 9 get 1 free). Unfortunately they are valid only if you buy bread in person.

I can not say enough amazing things about this bakery! The nursery I work at had an event for all the parents and children on Friday 30th September and our chef called in sick last minute.

I managed to find Wenzel's who could deliver sandwich platters and an array of other foods both savoury and sweet at such short notice. I ordered so much food and they kept in touch with me constantly about how my order was coming along, and if they didn't have the right quantity of what I ordered we made amendments together and they happily accommodated those adjustments.

When the food arrived, the hot food was piping hot and everything was packed separately so that no hot and cold food was mixed which made our jobs so much easier.

An additional surprise was some extra goodies with a sweet personalised note from the staff. My bosses and I were so stressed trying to get this event in place and you absolutely saved the day!

All the food was gone by the end of the 2 hour event, with parents and staff praising the quality of the food. The staff also loved the extra little goodies that graced the staffroom.

Thank you all so much for such a fabulous service! We truly appreciated it and my bosses are looking forward to using your services again for the next time we have events or any staff meetings.

You definitely have a return customer in both me and the nursery!

I buy a baguette every week from here but have noticed that my favourite chicken mayo has a lot less chicken mayo in it. Please put some more in as these are delicious.

I have just bought a Nutella biscoff doughnut as a treat, and it was heaven in my mouth, it is the only words I can describe to how tasty it was. I would like to suggest this stay on the menu permanently because I would buy it again. I mean everything else is so fresh baked to perfection and not to mention how super friendly the staff are.
