The Crusty Loaf

If there is one (there's two actually) reason to visit Coleford again its the FABULOUS crusty Cobb's from here! They took my wife & I back to the time when bread had real flavour! We will be buying a selection of the cakes etc that was beautifully displayed next time too. I'm sure it won't be too long either! A free Severn bridge will encourage this more often!

Lovely bakery with nice bread and some gorgeous snacks, cakes and/or savouries. Staff are friendly and helpful and the bread is baked fresh in site. If you want to get some yummy bread look no further

Went in to ask if they had anything vegan and even though they did I was actually told off for not phoning first and letting them know I’d be wanting some of the vegan food they sell ! Did the same thing a few weeks later (wasn’t planning on going there so didn’t call up to pre warn them a vegan would be coming in to the shop like they told me I had to) and was shouted at again. Apparently they get very upset by vegans thinking they can buy food without a prior appointment but don’t have any signs or warnings that they only sell their vegan food by appointment only. It’s a basic pasty shop not a five star restaurant. Who phones and books ahead to buy a sausage roll?!

Actually tried phoning this time to avoid the humiliating telling off they give to vegans who don’t know the rules but they don’t actually answer the phone so it looks like I’m not allowed to be a customer.

It’s also a massive issue that their delivery drivers park big trucks right outside the store while picking up or dropping off, since they are parked on the main roundabout in town completely blocking the view for 10-15 minutes at a time!

Their sour dough bread is out of this world. No going back to anything else now.

Ordered Valentine's cupcakes and they turned out amazing. Plus the bakery offered free delivery.

On 2 occasions I've visited I've got nothing but sarcastic remarks amd rude service by staff for asking simple questions and requiring service, which is their job to provide. No wonder the other bakery in town has a queue out the door.

Lovely traditional bakery, smells heavenly. Strongly recommend for a takeaway lunch, bread or pastries/cakes.
