Donovan’s bakehouse

This is a bakery pop up in the middle of spitalfields aelling mostly donuts and pastries that you might have with a coffee. They were better priced than other stalls but the custard donut I had was only okay. The flavour of the dough was good but it there wasn’t enough filling which made finishing the donut feel like hard going

I spent £2.50 on a large and nice looking doughnut only to be extremely disappointed with my purchase. Sure they look good, but the dough was already tired by 12:00 (lunch time) and it was a chore eating the drying dough. This wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if there was some form of distribution of the Jam/Custard but that’s not the case. Where there was Custard it was admittedly delicious and added much needed moisture to the dry dough.

I would have gotten a fresher and better product (minus the actual custard which was excellent) from a bag of doughnuts from a supermarket. Especially at 12:00.

I feel I bought yesterday’s product, and though the ingredients were probably of a high standard there wasn’t any care being applied in the preparation which caused me to feel I was eating a slightly stale dry doughnut.

Perfect sugar level. Usually, doughnuts are packed with sugar. Donovan’s bakehouse mastered the ingredients and provided old school taste. Thanks a lot.

The donuts are good, but sometimes they are very dry and hard which leaves an unpleasant after taste but mostly they're ok. (Dry ones are the icing ones.)

There is a staff member who is extremely short with customers, I have experienced her abruptness a few times and she embarrassed me because I was asking about my change. She was shouting at another man working there that she's the manager and tells him what to do, because it was busy, he looked so embarrassed. The customers in queue felt very uncomfortable, and some ended up leaving the queue. Won't be going back there.

Have only been here once, but the service was good and the apple filled donut was tasty. Don't have much bad to say about it.

Great variety of stuff available. I had the Portuguese tarts but it was a bit sweeter than I prefer. It was quite tasty though.

Too good! No one wants to miss while visiting in London.

Horrible customer service!!
Staff is rude to customers and call them idiots!!!
Plus not the best higiene as people can easily touch as they please, put the product back and leave
