I've had Birds cakes for years, but never been to the cafe... until today.
The service staff were lovely and efficient. They brought my young daughters ham sandwich over to tide her over whilst my toastie was being prepared. They had also advised me that I didn't need the packet of crisps I'd picked up as my choice came with them on the side.
My cappuccino was lovely and frothy and the tuna cheese melt was really crispy on the outside.
Will repeat this again!

Visited today and I have to say the staff seemed very stressed having to follow the new covid rules. An elderly lady asked if she could move table due to the air con being on and the door open and the staff member was so so rude towards her & told her no she would have to wait 15 minutes and ranted about the rules. Another elderly lady was sat on a chair behind the door freezing cold and asked if she could close the door and was told no also. Very grumpy staff with poor customer service skills , don’t do a job if you don’t like the public ladies

Staff unfriendly and abrupt. No room for movement on the menu if you are a vegetarian. Now use very cheap margarine instead of butter. Jacket potatoes kept warm under hot light from early morning until lunchtime. Used to go regularly but no more.

Grow some ears!!!! Apparently I’m in the wrong if I ask a worker for something whilst they are having a conversation, that’s been going on for the last 5 minutes, you will get a dirty look given to instead of being served. Then asking for them not to cut my bread, then they ask if they want my bread cutting 3 times, when telling them I didn’t want the bread cutting. Also asking for a caramel doughnut, and her giving a cream puff instead. Maybe they should learn to listen to the customer. Just some light feedback. Instead of talking about last night coronation street or whatever else is on the television now days.

Always good for those naughty baked treats, but beware, they can sell out

Went in for coffee and cake. Nice selection of traditional cakes and pastries served up with a good cup of coffee. Clean, toilets available. All Good!

Very curt and unhelpful lady at the cafe side. The people sat at the tables either side of me also found the same. Food slammed down. Asked for something to help disabled chap..was most unfriendly. Gave two stars as cake ps were nice..but service unfortunately wasnt

Still consistently good quality breakfast offering.
However, maybe in need of a fresh approach to the offering. Items are a little dated, no batista style coffees, sourdough breads etc .
But may fit the demographic...
