Pretty terrible. I went in twice with a minor thing to be sorted. First day I stood while two female staff chatted to each other for a few minutes before reluctantly addressing me. I was asked to take a seat. Then told because it was lunch time that I would have to wait a long time to be seen (despite there being quite a few staff seemingly wandering around aimlessly). I was told it would be better to come back first thing in the morning.....

So...first thing in the morning I went back. Two blokes stood around seemingly with nothing to do, was told to take a seat, and watched 3 maybe 4 customers arrive over the space of 15 minutes, while the staff did nothing. Eventually I managed to speak to some who did a simple amendment on my account. 25 minutes out of my working day wasted, plus the 10 minutes wasted the day before when no one was around to help. I'll be moving banks soon (thankfully)

Absolutley shocking. Opening hours prevent people who work during the week from ever being able to get there. And if you do manage to get there dont expect help. The staff v machine ratio is backwards. They will soon have not one human in that place. Shutting the nelson branch made no sense whatsoever. That branch was always busy. Hardly an unused waste of resources. The elderly people who relied on that have now been forced to travel into burnley and use machines that can confuse the most intelligent. I along with 7 family members have since moved to another bank. More beneficial to us both personally and with our 4 businesses between us.

This bank is shockingly bad. I'm sat here waiting to close all my accounts and the lady in front of me has been sat here over an hour waiting to close hers. It's disgusting but I will stick it out today so I never have to deal with this idiotic institution again

Really bad service if you go to take your money they want you to sit there for long time and no waiting time. Rubish service. Staff standing free but not help full at all.

Terrible customer service and nonsensical processes! Supposed to be making banking easier... laughable!

Attended as part of setting up a Trustee Account. Not a common thing but not rare either.
The assistant could at best be described as incompetent. They had very little understanding of the process and when asked questions, the best they could muster was "You will find out when you receive the information letter when the account is open".
On top of that, as I did not have a Barclays account myself (and I certainly have no intention of opening one now), I had to provide identification. This is standard and acceptable.
However, they wouldn't accept a bank letter, an employment letter, a council tax letter and a drivers license, they needed a bank statement aswell. Now, aside from questioning what would of happened if I didn't have an account, I was happy to go to my bank just down the street and get one printed off. But the assistant insisted I download the Barclays app and use their ID process as it "would be quicker". It was not, infact, it couldn't even ID me properly.

So in summary, a frustrating experience handled by incompetent staff.
