The teller made a simple task of paying a cheque into my account an unpleasant experience. Said the cheque could not be paid in despite me having done this every week for 2 years. When I insisted he said oh well we can pay it in and see what happens.

Beoyond appalling. Little to add. A terrible experience with them on Friday (taking over an hour of all-round bewilderment followed by an unwanted touching which I haven't bothered to report) and the cash machine outside was not working: so while in a private open-faced room people were knocking on the window, not wishing to leave their cards in a broken machine, and TSB person asked me to pop out to attend to them. Which I did four times without thanks from TSB person. Today (Wedenesday) they have still not done as undertaken. I would never commend this bank locally in practice on online/telephone in principle. Any other bank couild surely not do worse, hence changing banking. tSB in my opinion are not bankers but *ankers. No access to my own money? No internet access? Passed from person to person on the phone? Handy hint: don't bank with TSB standing to my mind for To Be Shut (down). Best of luck people.

I paid a cheque in to the Credit Point at the bank on a Saturday. It's now Thursday and no sign of the cheque hitting my account. No one answers the phone on the local number and you get re-directed to the Telephone Banking, which has to be the most mind-numbingly cretinous system ever devised. If you are such a LOCAL Bank, being able to talk to a real human being might help.

Online they state the Bromley branch is open until 4pm on Saturday so I walked the mile from home and arrive at the branch to find it closed as the sign on the door states it closes at 1pm on Saturday !!!! They can't even get their opening times correct !
