Barclays are the biggest investors in fossil fuels in Europe. Switch to another bank to reduce your carbon footprint. A great tool for checking out greener banks is a site called 'bank.green'.

Barclays claim to have committed to be net zero by 2050. Not only is this goal no way near soon enough, but since then their funding of the fossil fuel industry increased. Google "sharklays" for more info about how Barclays is funding the climate crisis.

Shocking!! No staff let alone customer service. Closed all the branches replaced people with machines that can hardly do anything. I’m leaving and going to metro bank at least your greeted by a person and helped instead of waiting for an hour…yes an hour.

Very disappointed with this brunch. Be there with my sister who came from Ukraine and try to open bank account. We complete some form online, book the appointment 2 weeks ago and today was sent back as the letter from nhs was “to whom it may concern ” not to Barclays… Really????????

Just queued for 20 minutes with near 20 other customers waiting and only 3 members of staff working, only to be told that no Barclays branches are currently taking international cheques, hasn’t been able to for a week, and don’t know when they’ll be to again. Literally no UK businesses in the can pay in from abroad at the moment. Insane.

Popped in at the last minute and because they were free, they managed to see me right away and fixed my issue in less than 10 minutes. Thank you! I would recommend booking an appointment on the Barclays website to make sure you can see them. Note this is only a customer service department, there are no banking facilities.

It’s hard to imagine a customer service worse than at Barclays. Wanted to reopen my Premier account (transferred it a while ago) to catch a nice offer — couldn’t do in the app so had to call them. Was told by Premier Customer Service that I need to go to the branch. Ok, spent an hour travelling, and at the branch, the receptionist tried to convince me in a rude manner they don’t open accounts in the office anymore. Sigh, had to patiently explain the whole story. Eventually was told I have to book an appointment and come again, but… the earliest appointment is no earlier than 1 month! That’s just to open an account, given they already have my profile and all details! Not saying, Premier means nothing to them, just waiting a month to open an account is ridiculous! That’s a reminder it was 100% right decision to transfer away from Barclays back then, unbelievable the service like this still exists in 2022…

I foolishly joined Barclays (as a university student). They have effectively replaced common sense with technology in the name of potential scams making it virtually impossible to access your own account without their APP. Might as well replace apps for apes. Talking with their customer service reps is a painful, painful experience, the end of which is guaranteed misery.
