This was instead of trip to Snowdon due to not being able to get to the top. Alterations and railworks and no facilities halfway up. This was great trip by steam train part way around lake with enough time to visit slate museum afterwards. Scenery is spectacular with reflections of the mountains in the lake. Seats are wooden and hard so take a cushion if you can. Didn't eat there.Loved the trip

Loverly drink by the steam railway over looking the estuary. Good range of beers at very good prices. No staff and had to close early 18:00 Sunday

Nice setting but no hot food as didn’t have any chefs? Nice to sit outside however and enjoy watching the trains coming and going. Beers Was good, hobgoblin on draught!

My dad says this is the best bar in the world.

Sitting outside on a sunny day with a pint of Tetley’s and some scampi fries watching the trains puff by, I decided he is probably right.

We stopped for lunch after a long night of drinking and a morning spent in the car. Desperate for food we picked the first restaurant we could find that was open for lunch. This place served that purpose. Extensive menu and friendly staff but everyone in my group said their food was okay.

A great place to watch the trains but because of the COVID situation over the past few years the café is closed as they haven't been able to get a chef ,the pub is still open, and you can get coffee and cakes

A gem in the middle of porth, couldn’t fault the food, it was absolutely delicious, I had the steak burger and my partner had the steak, burger was so flavourful and juicy, and his steak was cooked perfectly. Limited menu would be my only critique. But I’m not sure if they update there menu regularly. Will definitely be back.
